Thanks for the memories. Even if they were painful - lol. In the semis - I redlit to Auston Pusey (who was broke). As I came around the return lane some guy comes up and asks " hey didn't you know he was broke?" I said if I knew he was broke do you think I would have cut it so close???? But it was meant to be, as Wayne Dollyhigh won in the finals vs Auston. I believe it was his only national event win before he passed away. Thanks again and see you in your "STICK" car soon. Doyle |
Re: IHRA Just Sold
I just want to know where all those Corvettes are today... Don't see that many at the track any more.

Re: IHRA Just Sold
I dont have a race car so this is an opinion of someone who grew up at IHRA races. From childhood I ran to watch super stock and modified nothing else really mattered to me till top sportsmen came out.I remember the first time I got to line up a freinds stick car in the water at about 17 ,words can't describe the feeling. The point is it would be great if those old days came back but we know they won't.all anyone can hope for is Ihra to flourish. With the popularity of stick car shows how about a stick only dial in class.Within a certain et range.Gives people an option at a national event or points race .Not everyone can afford the engine to run class but still want to change gears .

Re: IHRA Just Sold
Greg Hill , what races did not involve heads up in s/ss ? It has always been heads up when you were paired with a car in your same class.

Greg, I understand now. I did not work those races and was not aware they had that problem. I always enjoy seeing and talking with you and Andrew and wish you the best for 2013. Jim

Re: IHRA Just Sold
With the sale, is the track operator legally bound to honor a contract he has with IHRA? Just wondering if there are tracks out there that would "jump ship" if given the chance. If the contract is with Feld Motorsports I wouldn't think they would have to honor any agreement.

Re: IHRA Just Sold
I also hope the new owners will bring the Pro-Am divisional series out to their/our Division 7 region. Heck if we lose both Speedworld & Firebird Intl. Raceway, then IHRA's Div. 7 will geographically be closer to get to than NHRA's D7. Given that NHRA doesn't seem to care about western geographics (or restructuring the divisional layout), like they did in both the NFL, and NBA, but they sure liked copying the "Governators" doubling of licensing costs (thus using it to increase the costs of our competition numbers)! Isn't it interesting that the NHRA is copying the IHRA's format for National Dragster magazines becoming bi-weekly, and going to an online magazine offering, however while they reduce the number of magazines we get, the cost stays the same? Go figure....
