Yeah but the me factory engines have super strict fuel economy and emissions restrictions that the older cars didnt have. Just from tuning, a new car can pick up a lot more HP than an old car. True, there is less to be gained in the cylinder heads because the new ones are so good, but that's not exactly a disadvantage in stock eliminator!

However, I personally think it's possible for an LT1 to win SS/HA, SS/IA, and SS/JA!

I agree about H, have to see Stewart lose I to believe it, I don't know how fast those DPs in J are. Even if they are slow (can't imagine how you could make one slow) an LT1 would have to get by Ronnie Terrell. That little car is extremely dangerous for a legit car.

Prolly 9.70's, based on what some other 5.9's have gone and factoring in the weight difference.

lmao!!

No, Ed, I can't run 9.70s.

Maybe in some of that Div 1's -500' air. :-)

We don't know anything about that stuff, do we? LOL
Maybe 5000' air.

Mr Jeff Acres are getting to hard to come by around us. But we do have sweet corn, tomatoes and moon shine.
We all know the DP stuff is fast but will they run -1.25 just to win class?

Probably you, Vaughn, and Wenzel if he goes, he couldn't get in last year. I know I'm out getting too tough, not enough oats!

Ed we get -500 ft of air all the time in Div. 1. Our only problem is the unicorns won't get off the track when the air is that good!! Yeh thats right we have unicorns in Div 1 also. Charlie why wouldn't the DP's run 1.25 under? Even if they get an instant 15 hp they will still be about 50 hp under rated.

Berry because that's what it going to take to out run a car like Jeff , Ricky, or the tin solider

If anybody in J could, it would be Ronnie.

Re: Indy 2013

I am officially entered. I wonder how many BB and CC/SA will be in the Shoot Out @ 10.50 index. How many in the fast Shoot Out @ 10.20. Predictions to get in the Big Show? How many Mini Shoot Outs will there be? A/S A/SA SS/JA SS/AH. What did it take last year in Stk? In SS? Somebody knows. Post it for us pilgrims. If it takes 9 under to get in SS, the AH cars got to run 8.40? Challenge. Charlie Bob, need some of that sweet corn. Today is Day 4 of Panic Mode till we leave on 8/21 for Bowling Green.

Spyphish 08-04-2013 11:21 PM

Re: Indy 2013

9 under!!! Now your putting me in panic mode. At least we are "all run" for class so not a wash out. Check out bangshift.com Westcott's GP pass at Stanton. I QUIT!!!

.787 under for stock last year.

Jeff Teuton 08-05-2013 08:31 AM

Re: Indy 2013

OK .787 under in Stock and .722 under in SS not counting Tech and No Shows.. Sorry Stephen, didn't mean to scare to you. You Blue this year or Red & White? Course that is 8.57 for AH. Not exactly soft. So I need to run 9.50 in BB. I'm not sure if my heart can stand that. First I gotta get a swing out arm so I can get in the damn thing. Ed, even you can run .722 under; unicorn or not. We get -500 DA also, but no unicorns. I don't think unicorns come out in 110 heat index anyway.

Ed Wright 08-05-2013 09:25 AM

Re: Indy 2013

Jeff, I think I MIGHT be able to squeeze a -.722 run out of it if I hop it up enough, and can borrow some of that fuel you guys brew up down there. Not sure how you get through fuel check with that stuff. And you drink it too?

SS/JA will be tough. I don't know of one coming that can't run over a second under in the heat. May be brutal. Still not sure I'm coming. Wife would prefer I didn't.

Blue and crew. David Reher and Brad Morgan are coming since fastest we have been there is a 60. We are testing next years heads so we will see how we stand.

Captain, always good to hear from you. About 80 in Stk and SS. Comp needs to step up. And S/G is lagging, but for some reason S/G seems to lag. What's up with that? Rock, you the contact point. Trying to see what the plan is so we can plan the A/S shoot out celebration. More as it unfolds.

Re: Indy 2013

The key question for the DP's will be is there a driver than will actually keep there foot in it if their driving isn't quite up to par. I haven't seen many drivers with newer combos actually have heavy foots besides Mr. Holbrook in Stock, the rest of the drivers hold the index very close to the vest even if they have another 3 to 5 tenths that they could eat into if given the chance.

Hey Ed, since your retiring, why not beat up the index on your way out. Turn the wick all the way up and let it eat. It could be your way of going out with a bang lol

Hagen Gary 08-06-2013 10:19 AM

Re: Indy 2013

Ed would have to run 1.20 under to get it power. That thing will never get hit with all the stockers that run in super stock. It's almost at grade point 1 and we don't even have half the quota. This will be my first trip to Indy and I'm F'in excited. Come on Ed, join the party.

As of noon today

86 cars in stock
28 classes entered
18 classes with at least 2 cars
11 for the combo

Ed Wright 08-06-2013 06:40 PM

Re: Indy 2013

5 entered in SS/JA so far, all 5 can run plenty more than a second under. One more when Gary Emmons enters.

Going to be brutal if nobody wimps out.

Re: Indy 2013

Half way there. Grade Pt 1 tomorrow. Shoot out's abound. I think it's gonna take more than .722 under in SS. Trying to get a tentative schedule for Indy so we can plan social activities. I need to confer with my Social Directress, Inventory Manager, Class Cooth and Culture, and Security advisors and see if they know something I don't know, which would not be hard. Out of 5, we have none ready, but we are working hard. Making progress.

Rock, I need to convince the boss I really should go. She said "That's a lot of diesel and you'll be behind a week's work here when you get back." You want to talk to her? LOL
