Even though your post was about radial slicks I would think that DOT drag radials, especially Hoosiers which are essentially slicks and are NOT street tires, would offer you another data set to go by. Good luck with your new combination and keep us posted on how much it picks up. Scott |

Re: Drag Radials
I ran an 8" wheel. 4.5' back spacing if I remember correctly. and a 30" tire. does someone make a 28" now?
|
Re: Drag Radials
No bob still only make a 30... we were told 5.5 bs so we'll see oh it fits..
|
Re: Drag Radials
mine was tight, inner needed hammer work and had to trim the rear a little. look forward to seeing you guys out again!
|
Re: Drag Radials
I am sure you guys know this, but it bears repeating.....we have stockers running in the 8's at over 150 MPH on 9 inch tires.....it shouldn't be too difficult to get a lower class stocker to work on the same tires......spend more time developing HP....it will solve a lot of problems...
A short story for ya....about 40 years ago, I was racing and not too fast.....I was under the rear of John Wilsons SS/B car to check out the suspension....a fellow racer tapped me on the shoulder and said "you are looking at the wrong end of the car"....I haven't forgotten that. |
Re: Drag Radials
Gary,
If the back of a fast race car is "The Wrong End" then why did Bill Jenkins kick me in the A** when I was looking under the rearend of his Vega? Humm, I guess he owes me an apology because I was looking at the wrong end.. |
Re: Drag Radials
Hey Adger,,,I am sure that you have forgotten more than I know about going fast.....LOL... Very simply, what I was trying to say is that a mediocre suspension and a killer motor is faster than a killer suspension and a mediocre motor... that's all.

Re: Drag Radials

Re: Drag Radials
Hey Hp hunter. M. Beard has talked about a wheelie contest at the Northern Class Nationals. How about you and Ed . settle it there. Just get it on in front of all us old timer Class Racers. I'm pretty sure after Ed was a little sassy to M. Beard and has no memory of talking to him Beard might help get him there.
We might even take up a collection here on Class Racer and help with the entry expenses. How about it. You two put up or shut up. On second thought how about you two put up and shut up.. |

You could be like Deb Jackson (@ PPPC) and say BaAAAAAdger
She usually puts Badger on my orders where it says purchaser. I do like a little fun out of life. I've figured out too many people take life too seriously. BTY: Is "demoralize" one of those new generation words for our old timers "Kick ***"? If not, translate please? :D |
