John Kakalecik's '70 Hemi 'cuda has also been raced since new. I think Marvin Graves still runs the "Tammy's Toy" '68 LO23 Dart on occasion. Wayne Hutton's SS/AH car is also an original '68 Hemi Barracuda. I think both of Pancake's cars are originals?

I am updating/preparing a '66 Hemi Coronet base sedan for SS/DA that has been parked since 1984. It was an original Hine Motors car from Ohio. 464.5 documented original miles. 1 of 34 Hemi base sedans built.

My 68 Corvette that Ken Bugaj ran in Top Stock and Tom Rhoda ran in Stock is an original L71 427-435 car with 23,000 street miles. It's been a race car since 1971 and had a Body off restoration in 1997. I have all the original paperwork on the car. Steve Calabro and I still race in Division one Stock in L88 trim. Thanks Joe Fasano

Bob, this is about " most valuable", not most weight.

If memory serves me right, the odometer on Gene's car reads 10.7 Miles. Coolest car in the pits as far as I am concerned. Car is fast and Gene is still one of the toughest to beat.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Truppi-Kling-Allen/Briggs Chevrolet 1970 SS454 convertible!

Right on Marty. I believe a couple of years ago that car sold at Barret Jackson for 1.2 Million. Ray lived in Randolph NJ back when I lived in Jersey, only a few miles away from Billy and I both.

My vote would be Sid Sweenes` `69 ZL-1 Camaro from Colorado. Not sure if it ever hit the streets. I saw the car before it ever hit the track when my dad was opening up the wheel wells for the slicks in our garage. As much as I can remember, the car always ran with the aluminum block in it as well. Even Reggie Jackson had an interest in the car but Sid wouldn`t sell.

Re: The most valuable/desirable Stock and Super Stockers

I have 3 that hit pretty close to home:

1. "The Hemi Countdown" -- '65 A990 Belvedere purchased new by Harry Holton ("Grandpa") and currently owned by SS/AH racer Mark Vieira. To my knowledge, this car has been bought/sold about 7x now and still has yet to leave Stanislaus County (California)!

2. Our current '65 Belvedere. Formerly owned by Robin Pellesier and Barton-powered. Have owned since '96. First A990 in the 8's in legal SS trim.

3. Don Little's yellow Barracuda. World Champ in '99. Top 10 multiple years running. Numerous wins and records. About to begin a new life back in its original plum-crazy with a 440-6 and street trim. The car has been completely restored. Original 6-pack car to boot!

He is hanging in there. Just got out of the hospital after 27 days. Still doing radiation and chemotherapy right now. He is in good spirits now that he is home. I'm going back to spend some time with him in mid Jan. One day I will take you up on that offer. Thanks for asking about my dad.

How about Project Six Pack from Super Stock magazine? It was an original factory 6 pack car that was converted to race car status, if memory serves me well. I think it is still around and was way fast at the time. They even showed to do a lace paint job as part of the project - How cool is that??

The car was mentioned by Nitro Joe in post # 10,,, It also gets my vote. NHRA's all time winningest single race car is right.

In my mind I think Myron Ramey and his nephew have two of the best old chevys that have the history and backround that goes back all the way to junior stock yet they still survive today They were the Hardys and Bergs cars from LA and now at home in Indiana. They were race cars before many of these cars were even built of thought about.

I'd like to mention Dan Dvorak's '63 Dodge 440, original 426 Max Wedge car with an aluminum front end. This car has set many national records in Stock eliminator over the years. It was bought last year by Tom Auger at the Mecum Auction in Florida. Tom brought the car to Maine where we've been working on it in preparation to compete in NHRA Stock Eliminator Division 1 for the 2014 season. I just finished installing a complete new floor pan yesterday, trans. and rear is ready, currently working on engine. We hope to be ready by season's start.
