Hope the sun comes out and helps the drying. I know when I was down there a couple weeks ago for Lights Out 5 it rained Sunday and Monday they still had water seeping up thru the track and had to cancel the rest of the event

There is a rumor here that the sportsmen might run the Gators here next week! At least we are parked on the pavement here. I just hope they make a decision before they send us to Gainesville, then back here like they did a few years ago at Orlando!

That would be a shame, assume it's because of all the rain they've had in central Florida? Even a lot of the big Pro Mod and Pro Bike teams have to pit in the fields for the Gators. Think I may have a pass from watching the grandkids tomorrow so hope to see you soon!

Well today is done for! I guess with it getting to 70 tomorrow hopefully they will be able to get the track warm enough to run.

So all the sportsman classes would be at SGMP starting on what day? I'm trying to make reservations in Gainesville, but I reckon now I will wait and see. Who will make that call and do you have an idea of when. I been to the Gators a couple of times, and it probably can get pretty soft in the grass fields especially.

I talked to a fairly good source that told me that rumor about running sportsman at SGMP was not true. We will be running at Gainesville! Especially with little to no rain in the forecast over the next week!

Well it is a cold morning here at SGMP, but the sun is shining. It is 37 now, going up to 70. We are scheduled to begin at 9 with Super Street, then Stock. The weather is showing it being 50 by 9, but I don't know if the track will be warm enough by then. Needless to say, we are ready for a day of racing!

We want to thank Jeff Adkinson and his family for the big pig roast he threw over in his pits last night. The whole pig was cooked and it was wonderful. I have some pics that I will post. They laid out the pig, then pulled the meat from it. Really cool! And then there was a birthday celebration for Willie! With good cake!

And yes, by more rumors here, it does sound like we will probably go to Gainesville next week instead of staying here!

We just made our 1st run of 2014 and it wasn't a very good one. 62 stockers went down that time. Track seemed to hook pretty well for most. Butch Payne did something to his that caused a clean-up. Don't know what happened.

Ms Patsy, do you know if live timing is going to be working at the track this weekend? It says "waiting connection from track" but I've learned that doesn't mean a lot. LOL

Sorry Mack.. I'm not getting anything. 1320go just says it is "connecting to track" but it apparently is not working because it never connects. And there is zero information on drag race central. So I guess we have to wait for Ms Patsy to post results for us...

I'm going to guess you folks aren't aware of the disastrous problems encountered with Live Timing over the past few years. If you don't know what's happening with Drag Race Central, you haven't been reading the multiple threads posted here over the past two months.

Bret, I know about the DRC deal. But Pat asked about live timing and I was wondering where she was getting it... I knew that 1320 was not covering NHRA Div 2 this year so just was interested in seeing where it was... She is having the same luck as all of us sitting home and wishing we were there... Thanks Mack. I was not aware 1320go was not covering divison 2 at all this year. So I guess my membership is worthless. Seems like we are going backwards on technology instead of improving, doesn't it?

We are done for the day. First round will be first thing in the morning! Super stock is running their 2nd qualifier now. Nothing much exciting happening today. Everyone just trying to get the feel of things for the first time this year. Sure wish the weather would have cooperated on Thurs. so we could have tested then!

I think we are going to try out the Smokin' Pig tonight. More later,
