In the David Barton video driving the hemi car. When he gets in high gear just before he lifts, it sounds like the motor lays over. Did it sound to anyone else like it might have been a problem or just pulling the motor down with the loss of gear? Just curious about what I heard.

Thanks to those who do the Live From threads. I really enjoy the reporting. It has to to me a lot of work to race and keep us all entertained at the same time.

Curtis

To answer your question Curtis, it appears to me that there was way too much clutch slip in the Hemi car. More than likely David Barton aborted that run to avoid damaging the clutch. It sounded that way to me in first gear through 4 gear. This is the way it appeared to me. With the Racepak system, all that will be on the data graph. Adjustments can then be made to get down the track.

G-Force 5 speed....maybe. I think Liberty also makes a clutch-type 5 speed also.

I found a few more photos from yesterday. DRC has the latest rounds up so no point getting into the rounds. The weather has been great all morning and at the present. Rain coming in tonight, but it is a fast moving front and we should be okay for tomorrow. It will be a lot cooler, should make for some interesting racing.

Curtis, David had a clutch issue and had to lift.

Better question is what tire was on Victor's 5 speed car?

Didn't realize that Victor Cagnazzi drives a COPO as well, I thought he just owned Connolly's ride and was with the Pro Stock operation. Seems like a cool ride - 427sbc with a 5spd!

I didn't think clutchless transmissions were legal in a stocker. Maybe FS is different?

Mike, Victor uses a clutch assisted transmission. It looks like he is not pushing the clutch in but if you look real closely, you will see a very fast foot movements. I use the clutch on every run!

Good morning all, todays racing will be on hold for awhile. It rained on and off all night. At the present time it has stopped and there are calling for it to clear up by noon. Its still cloudy out and looks like it might start up again.

No schedule has been posted as of yet, but I'm sure it will be an abbreviated one.

Angelo, I'm using a go pro, still working on mount to stop the shakiness.

Thanks Sal, still have to fine tune my skill level.

I forgot to post the first photo yesterday. Dave Barton and Mike Skinner chatting before the final Factory Stock Showdown run.

Good morning - By the sound on my roof all night we got a bunch of rain and its never a good sign when you hear the Jet track dryer shut down .Its just misting at this moment in the pits but could be coming down hard elsewhere .

Last nights round two of Stock and Super/Stock brought more than a few surprises as you couldn't trust your weather stations and the headwind bit a bunch of racers .And no one seems to know why there wasn't a spotlite shining on the tree as there has been in the past .Maybe they just forgot to turn it on ? We'll never know .Many racers complained about not seeing the bulbs because of this .

Good news - the Jet is running again - maybe they just shutdown to gas up - or went for a potty break - all that coffee .....well you get it ! !

Back a little later ............

Billy, THEY are probably giving grade points based on net worth, bank balances and such, which would explain why some of us are not racing this weekend........

Usage is determined by action vs something being acted upon.
Darkness affects something...
The effect of darkness was something...

I couldn't get in either. I think there are owner points that can be earned. That could contribute to his entry into the race.

Re: Live from Reading, PA - NHRA Keystone Nationals

Boster might be able to shed some light on the registration process. The count was at 91 whenever Jim Marshall and Larry both withdrew at the same time. Paul entered at that exact time. We were all on the phone at the same time. It showed him entered, then it knocked him back out the next second. I don't know if this applied to Cagnazzi or not, but someone got in. It seemed that somehow the system was set to automatically enter someone that was on an unknown list as soon as it dropped to 89.

good morning. Thank you for the great pictures and videos.
Outstanding I must add.
I love that SS/EA Chevelle. I hope if I get to go tomorrow he will let me check it out.
I sure hope they move the Factory Stock cars to a permanent Heads up Eliminator.
My 2 cents, from just a big fan of these classes of Stock n Super Stock as they are Wayyy Tooo Coool!!!!

I thought there was a rule to the effect of any Professional team owner could gain entry into a national event (Roy Johnson at Bristol a few years ago for example).

The schedule for today starts with the pros around 11:30 followed by comp and stock. It could change for the sportsman but the pros will be out first.

You guys are unbelievable, when it comes to whining and bitching, class racer has to be king. There I said it..... what else can you all find to bitch about this weekend.

BTW... Victor got in on owner points, look up the NHRA rule.

Enough said on this subject start another thread.... you guys kill me!

Everything has a price and I think Victor had this price covered. But you must admit he did one good job driving. Wish I could have been there to mingle with him.
