I heard a rumor that some team from down south was bringing back the "White Russian Machine"

Jeff Teuton 08-05-2015 11:05 AM

Re: Indy

That is true Tim. As ticket agent for the aforementioned team would you like to reserve a ticket? Discount prices for early purchase. But you might not know there will probably be two teams with machines? Margaritas, White Russians, would you like to know the location (slight handling fee).?

Larry Hill 08-05-2015 01:03 PM

Ok! Where and when for the white Russians and Margaritas?? I'm in!!

Capt Jack, you get a large discount, and of course Miss Patsy drinks free. She takes pretty pictures.

Re: Indy

101 in Stock. According to what I see (subject to be incorrect), there are 37 new cars entered so far. I see 8 that can't run or I know are not running the Shoot Outs. I don't know exactly who will be in the thing, but it will evolve as it gets closer. 8 B/SA, 5 D/SA, 5 G/SA, 6 E/SA

Jeff Teuton 08-06-2015 10:16 PM

Re: Indy

79 in SS, 14 SS/AH and 13 in the 23 new classes created for SS this year for the new cars. Those numbers are off because some people like Randy Hopkins still don't know what class he runs. Neither does Paul Cambria, but he is a lawyer and that's his excuse. Isn't there a thread that tells you what class you run? Somebody tell them guys.

Mr. Larry Hill. While I may have been purged from the STK/SS affiliations, you know were to find me, and I will have machines running 24/7 !!

It's Indy; it's still the biggest and the best drag race on the planet. Driving past the water tower on Crawfordsville Rd. early on Wednesday morning, the first day of the event, still gives me goosebumps; even though this will be my ninth straight Indy. I can hardly wait!

Re: Indy

Bill - I get the same feeling when we pull up each year! I wanted to try and make Wednesday this year but my work schedule is pretty tight. Sticking with the Thursday, Friday and Saturday routine we've done for the last several years. Hotel is booked, heading up Wed evening and will be there bright and early on Thursday morning. Can't wait to see the action! - Jeff

Re: Indy

With Indy getting close still no predictions have arose! I know there are a bunch more classes but these are the ones we will be partaking in...
SS/AH- Teuton
FS/XX- ???
FS/X- Helms
FSSS/E( I think that correct lettering)- Helms
And not sure if a certain pink car will be there but if so whatever class it is in!
FSSS/F- B. Candies
Now that I've started keep it going!

69camz28 08-10-2015 12:23 PM

Re: Indy

FS/XX - Clay Arnett (COPO)

FS/X - Kevin Helms (Drag Pak)

I think one of the mysteries will be who will run FS/A, FS/B, FS/C that could/should run the showdown, but do not.

The good thing about that it will be like having 5 shootouts instead of just the 2! There is a slue of cars in those classes so should be good ones.

Dyno 08-11-2015 11:47 AM

Re: Indy

46 of the 129 now entered are "new" cars. Class should be fun!

Larry Hill 08-12-2015 07:59 AM

Re: Indy

49 spots left in stock and grade 1 enters today. B/SA looks like it will fun to watch with Hemi's, Tin Indians, LS1, LT1,six packs, max wedge, maybe a Ford and the 396/405's from both coasts and the far north. Almost forgot the plastic LS1 Corvettes and the 402 Chevy. This just in a Texass 396/405 Camaro.

Re: Indy

Jeff, these better be some killer Margarita's & White Russians ...
at $360 I could have had a hell of a bar tab somewhere !!

anyway just coming for the party there is probably no way that a dusty 55 year old 4500 pound station wagon could possibly qualify with all those young new cars like that southland dodge fleet !!!

Class Nationals then INDY ... maybe a beer in Bowling Green :)

seeya soon mr jeff !

153 entered in stock as of 8/12. Will it reach 200
and will they raise quota if it does?? Can
think of a few names I don't see entered yet
that I thought might be.

Re: Indy

OK, Joe Friday of Who Ain't Entered Yet is on the scene. I know Larry Hill ain't here, are all the Emmons ( they got 42 of them) coming, and my mind is blank. Not enough coffee. I'm in a strange place and got no printer so I can look closely. Where they all at. Who thinks they will get 200? Did we get that last year?

Spyphish 08-13-2015 09:42 AM

Re: Indy

Jeff, AH Elephant herd at 22. Still waiting on Dyno, Leiter, Perkins, Henson (unless running Texas Star Stang), Warburton and any West Coast cars. Looks like past champs team Warfish and Houser are out. That's too bad as we can roll with 'em. I believe only two of the current herd are past winners IE Hess and Daniels so could be some possible new winners or they certainly could repeat. Watch out for Kent and Bales. Phish

Okay Friday here on thursday. Don't see one of those
elcamino's or monte carlo's that were added to the
books yet for one. I thought Larry had the cuda entered.
The truck from Div 7 I did not see yet. ??
I will be mildly surprised if it doesn't get to 200...
Looked in archives. 187 2014 after final
qualifying??

Larry's Cuda is entered, Car #383 - A/SA. I will also be surprised if it doesn't reach 200; then the question becomes, will the NHRA raise the quota?

I really wanted to go one more time. Local machine shop messed up my heads. Got a valve job I didn't ask for. I now have sunken 45 degree seats. If I went, I wouldn't run class. Be too embarrassing.

Of course does not mean he could not bring a
different vehicle and run another class??

He could bring the "Cowboy Cadillac" that was the #1 qualifier last year at 2.217 under. But he usually only brings it to Indy every 10 years on Indy anniversary years; he brought it last year to the 60th Indy, so, if he holds true to form, he won't bring it until the 70th Indy in 2024.

And that was just the beginning. Larry ran a 12.798 in the first round of Stock which was a shocking 2.452 under! Does the automatic HP go beyond NHRA`s printed AHFS scale of -1.999?

Do all runs matter for the "AHFS" or just qualifying?
Trully amazing and shocking! Neat write up in national dragster
last year documenting these monumental runs.
Does anyone think there will be any 2 second
plus runs under this year? Maybe a "FS" car?
