X2 Mr Ed although I almost got had by one of the land mines at Silver Dollar. I was about to crawl under my car when I noticed a dog mine in my path, that probably would have even pissed me off even though I'm usually just happy to be at the races! Whatever had been left of it probably would have found its way back to the proper owner.
One of the upsides of usually being one of the last ones to get to the races is that you normally have plenty of room as the officials tend to not be as stingy with pit space once they see they're going to get everyone in!

So what will you do when the slide out don't give you enough room to get around your car?or You hit your head on them ? just wondering?

Never had that problem. Slide outs don't slide out all that far. You can make about anything a problem if you want to. Depends on your attitude.
I park my car next to my trailer. My neighbor's slide outs are on their motor home, not back next to my trailer and car.

Several years ago when actually pitted inside the Gatornationals I too had a similar experience with a pile of poop. Right next to my race car was such a foul smelling odor I was really ticked off that someone would allow their pet to do their duty and then not pick up afterwards. Much to my surprise I found the pile next to the rear area of the car, but it was not from an animal, it was human. Now that was down right disgusting and rude.

Some a$$hole needs a leash and a bag, they are giving dogs a bad rap.

After reading some complaints I would like to offer my apologies if I or my crew have kept anyone awake after hours. We usually are rather docile.

Ron, if that was the year me and Billy made the trek to the Gators I think that might have been Billy leaving you a present.

Bruce if you want to continue this self flagellation rant take it somewhere else. The topic is dog poop, not self pity.

Why complain about a noisy generator? This is the racetrack! Where people from all different budgets gather to make a whole lot of noise. Not a country club or retirement community. If you want peace and quiet, go to the Four Seasons.

Yesterday I forgot to put up the short stack for the genset. We are stacked in Pomona and are closer than if we are pitted. The genset self starts around sixish this morning, it runs a few minutes then I remember, no stack up. I get up and shut it off.

Re: Racers And Or Crew Being Rude To Other Racers

If you are down south, and it is warm enough to need AC all night, I have no issue with you running your RV generator all night.
I an in southern Ontario, Canada.
The generator was some 20 year old worn out POS, and was only running because the owners were too drunk to notice it and too lazy to shut it off.

At our tracks, we have a rule which states, no generators (or race cars) running after a specific time of night and before a specific time in the morning.

But, like everywhere else, there are people at the track who could care less about anyone else except themselves.

Ron Ortiz 11-10-2015 11:48 AM

Re: Racers And Or Crew Being Rude To Other Racers

No Ed, when you two came down we were pitted outside the track in the back forty. The year of the infraction I was pitted at the end of one of the finger roads inside the track. That is what amazed me is that someone would do that with all the Port a Johns around.

Besides, Billy's presents ain't *****.

We could start another thread about rude people who leave their race cars sticking out on the roads. Or how about the people in their pick up trucks or SUV's that stop and talk to someone in the roads while you are trying to get to the staging lanes.

Now, back to dog poop.

Does the quality of poop depend on the intake, such as canned food, dried food, wet food, human food? With this information you might be able to track down the culprit by identifying what it's owner gives them, then find the owner.

Ron Ortiz

Ron, did you break out your Mass Pooptrometer for that analysis? My only fear at the races with animals is that McClister's dog would get loose and get into a bag of Taco Bell.

The biggest problem I have is with fellow racers saving spots for their buddies. Believe me, I get it. I have no problem with someone saving "A" space - like in -ONE- next to them for a friend arriving later. But when I see a row roped off, makes me wanna turn into a bigger ###hole than I already can be. If you have the need to save multiple spots, you best do a better job with your travel arrangements.

...and then the "friends" pit elsewhere and a prime row of spots goes unfilled.

are not dogs not allowed in pits. I think the reason is more than just poop. If you bring your dog to track please watch them close. Would love to bring my dog (never have) just not sure I can properly keep eye on them. One dog hit by golf cart at etown glad was just minor injury to dog.

Somebody post a picture of the Mass Pooptrometer. I wonder if it looks like a Flux Capacitor? That right there is funny. I wonder what combination the Mass Pooptrometer would have to have to run in the Flux Capacitor? I think I need a beer.

Hey Don, don't you usually park your car, I'm assuming race car, beside your trailer, which would be beside your neighbor's trailer? Do west coast racers have slide out's in their trailers also? Must be livin large! LOL.

Ole Great racer Bryan. A friend of mine parked his dually in front of his race car cause he could not get in front of his trailer due to how packed it was as a result the kick out from the racer beside him proceeded to come out into his pit spot and as a result the dually now has a not so pretty dent from the kick out . The person was very arrogant in thinking she could use some others pit space . hey if you have a kick out use your pit space not mine is a very courteous thing to do,the very least thing to do is ask the person if you can use their pit space is appropriate

It has been warm up North here in Minnesota, all the ducks are still here. Getting cold tomorrow though with snow flurries, so keep that scatter gun ready, the ducks will be coming. Vikings tied with the Pack, who would have guessed.

This thread is hilarious! Mr Larry you started a good one! As most of you know our dog travels with us everywhere and she has a strict daily regimen, food as soon as we wake up then outside for heather to walk her and let her potty, always in our pit space and always pick up the poop after she's done. However in the 90's in ennis texas a gentleman chose otherwise with his dog and let it poop in my pit, back then I had a WAAAAAAAAAY worse temper and demeanor...lol...let's just say he wasn't happy with what I did to his rig with his dogs poop...be considerate folks!! But on the generator subject, sorry but I'm not cutting off my generator and air conditioning because someone next to me has to sleep in a tent, I respect the fact that that's all you can afford but I'm not gonna sleep miserably because they are. Sounds like liberal economics to me...good night folks! lol

Mr. Jeff, you know my weather instrumentation is old fashioned, sling psychrometer, manual wind speed gauge, mountain climber altimeter, etc.while everybody else uses battery powered instrumentation. So what makes you think that I would use a Pooptrometer. No, I do it the old fashioned way, feels like poop, looks like poop, taste like poop, good thing I didn't step in it.

That's still a sore subject, one day I'll find out...sad...for those who don't know this story the first weekend we went racing with our new motorhome someone ran either a golf cart or truck down the entire length of the bedroom slideout. To this day I have no idea who did it...
