Re: Godspeed Alex Denysenko!
I had not met Alex in person but spoke to him many times on the phone and bought parts from him. I would not have been able to set a national record last September without the conversation I had with Alex and steering me in the right direction on some things. Let it be known he will be missed by a lot of people. Godspeed Alex. My condolences to Tony and Beth.

Re: Godspeed Alex Denysenko!
Alex was a stand up guy. We enjoyed many conversations over the years. I'll always be grateful that he had me in to announce at the Class Nationals, and for the support he gave me when children on this site thought it was "cool" to lie about me. You can hear Alex saying, "#$%'em!" Thanks Alex. You were a rock among blades of grass.

Re: Godspeed Alex Denysenko!
Alex was dedicated to the sport of stock/superstock racing like none other in his time. His love of drag racing, which began in the glory days at Oswego, IL Dragway and US 30 in Gary, IN and culminated in his successful participation at the highest levels of NHRA and IHRA competition contributed to his legacy. He'll always be remembered as the Father and originator of the Class Nationals at Byron Dragway, the "Woodstock" of Class Racing. His love of all things Ford, and the help and mentoring he gave to so many racers will not soon be forgotten, nor should it be.
Alex will be missed and remembered by all who knew him. Rest in peace, my friend. Bill Rink |
Re: Godspeed Alex Denysenko!

Thanks to Michael Beard for having Alex as the Grand Marshall of the event. Alex was very happy to be around all of his racing friends at the event. He will be missed!

Re: Godspeed Alex Denysenko!
I'm just heart broken. I know Beth and Tony are too. I was lucky to know Alex and call him a friend. My thoughts go back to 1999 when we were racing IHRA and I first met him. There were a lot of late night talk sessions where the idea of the US Class Nationals was born. He was interested in the success of class Racing in the 70's when we ran SS and Modified meets at my tracks. He was convinced Class Racing could be promoted and successful again. I'll never forget the Sat night talks and eat outs at those races when friendships developed.( Lynn Mccarty, Jack Mc Carthy, Joe Jackson & a few others all know) I'm saddened by our loss, but still very happy to have know Alex and I know he was a special guy to most anyone that knew him. My heart goes out to Beth and Tony. I pray for God to give them peace and understanding. RIP my friend Alex.

Re: Godspeed Alex Denysenko!
My condolences to Beth and Tony. I first met Alex at the 2007 US Nationals, Alex was a wealth of knowledge and tried to steer me in the right direction. The thing that I always admired when we spoke was Alex spoke his mind and did not mince words. The world has lost a hero to many.

Re: Godspeed Alex Denysenko!
I'm very sad to hear of Alex's passing. When I first started looking into Stock Eliminator and really knew nothing about it I thought of the 67' 289 4 barrel combo because we have a mustang. After a little research I found Alex was the guy to speak with. He was nice enough to give me his honest opinion (I didn't know what it took to make a class car run) and after taking his advice I decided not to pursue the combo. He didn't just tell me it's a tough combo, he explained every detail of it which enlightened me on what it really takes to create a competitive Stock/Superstock car. I'm sure he gave this sort of advice on a daily basis but it meant a lot to a young kid starting an adventure into the world of class racing.
Rest In Peace Alex |

Re: Godspeed Alex Denysenko!
After second round at Joliet one year, I broke a oil pump drive. Alex hunted one down for me and worked late into the night to help me fix it. I kept saying that I needed to check on who I had next round in case it was heads up. Alex said that he was pretty sure that I didn't have a heads up next round but he would check for me after we were finished.
So after were were done all covered with oil he says "you have me next round" He knew all along. That was the type of guy he was. He will be greatly missed. Mike and BJ |

Rarely do I post here, but I too had to also say that Alex was a special guy. For many years he has been a part of my every day. Captured in a picture from 2005 Joliet, he has been there on my computer desk top ever since.
Tony, I know how difficult the days may be as loosing a parent is something that I well understand, but what you have to hold on to, are all those special moments that time can never take from you. Take care as you know you both are in our prayers. |
