A few more photos from Super Stockers in the lanes. Things are moving along fairly well, The 2nd round of Stock is done. Sorry to be away, but I'm trying to get some personal business squared away. I will try to get some more photos of the finals rounds of Stock and Super Stock.
In this video, Michelle Bongiovanni shows a drivers perspective during round one of Super Stock eliminations. Its nice to see the younger crowd getting into our sport. Michelle is 18 years old. |
Re: "Live From" Gainesville's Double Header
So, is the red tether going through the front of her helmet, a neck restraint, if so what kind? Steve Williams, S/G

Re: "Live From" Gainesville's Double Header
I haven't for gotten you guys, we are still racing going into the 5th round in most classes. I have lots of photos still to come. Dan Fletcher and Adam Davis face off, Joe Santangelo and Mike Volkman take on each other, with Jim Bailey getting the bye in stock
|
Re: "Live From" Gainesville's Double Header
Sorry I went went MIA but I was battling a migraine today especially after Don Fezell nailed me 2cd round it didn't help. It will be Fletcher and Bailey with Santangelo on the bye for semis.

Re: "Live From" Gainesville's Double Header
Did I miss something? Where is coverage on DRC? I'd just like an explanation , thanks
|
Re: "Live From" Gainesville's Double Header
Anthony Bertozzi over David Rampy in SS, Rampy missed the double up as he had just won in Comp.
|
Re: "Live From" Gainesville's Double Header
It's Jim Bailey the giant killer over Santangelo in Stock.
|
Re: "Live From" Gainesville's Double Header
Congratulations to Jim Bailey on the big win

Steve, its a Hans device that use front straps, it makes it easier to clip on to the helmet.
More photos from todays action. We did have one incident, Nick Reiter's brakes locked up and he hit the wall just past the stripe. Nick is okay and he told me it the car is repairable. I did post a photo out of respect for Nick, if he wants to later on I will do so. Thanks James for the updates. I will more photos tomorrow when I get done editing. |

Thanks Claude, like Myron said all results are posted on Drag Race Central. Here are some more photos from yesterdays action. I'm still editing more photos and will post as the week goes on leading up to the Gators. Some of the photos are a little graining, I will step up to a better camera for the Gators hoping to get better quality.
I'm sure I will be back later today, thanks everyone for checking in. |

Sure thing Lew. Well there is not much going on here so I thought I would update my camera. I took a few shots of what was out today and my new ride. Not many cars out, but I did find a few of the crew and drivers polishing their rigs working their cars or just relaxing.
For many of us staying here we usually have to unhook to top off for fuel, water and dump the holding tanks. Not so here in Gainesville, fuel, water and dumping trucks comes right to your motorhome door. Definitely a plus when racing back to back events. |
Re: "Live From" Gainesville's Double Header
Ken, I don't know the two guys by the motorhome, but by the looks on their face, it looks like they are wondering what the poor people are doing right now.

Re: "Live From" Gainesville's Double Header
Hey Ken can you get a shot of the rest of that blue striped trailer such as the tow vehicle and race car that came out of that box. Nice trailer.
Them two racers lounging around should be out there getting a Florida tan instead of sitting in the shade. And thanks for the fine reporting and pics. Ron Ortiz U/SA made in the shade |

Ron, that's one of Gary Richard's rigs. It hauled the 2010 Cobra Jet sliver Stocker and Paul Iaconis's Super Stocker Camaro driven by Frank Maiolo. Its a Peterbilt with a NRC conversion and a Gold Rush stacker. Gary also brought the Peterbilt toterhome and trailer, they had five cars to bring down.
I know this is the stk/ss section, but the last photo is Danny Bisbano next to his Super Comp car doing routine maintenance like most of us who decided to stay between races. |
Re: "Live From" Gainesville's Double Header
Wow, A divisional race in Gainesville Florida.... then a three day layover at the track... then the Gatornationals....WHAT A LIFE! It's a beautiful thing to be bathing in the Florida sun, while swimming in Sportsman Drag Racing Cars! A whole three days to wonder around and meet some good ole like minded neighbors. Sonny's just up the road a little, the young folks can check out the Gator college girls. I so wish I was there competing along with you, maybe next year. Make sure you let NHRA know how much you like the double header deal!

Re: "Live From" Gainesville's Double Header
Why would anyone spend $250,000 to race for $2,000 if you would win .?
Guys now days don't know what it was to come in a open trailer towed by a chevy wagon. I dont get it . |
