I don't believe they use scoreboards..Just like in 1967
I think each driver gets a full time ticket though.

Southeast Gassers OFFICIAL Race Recap Shadyside, Shelby NC Event 11-4-17

https://youtu.be/jtCOQ6VYJsw

The Southeast Gassers take over the Shadyside Dragway in Shelby NC for their final event of the 2017 racing season. The crowds of spectators were not disappointed with the 60's style drag racing of days gone by. Come with us on a ride into 1967 when drag racing was cool and the drivers were trying to tame their machines on every run.

Thanks for the Support Mopar, it's amazing how many supporters we have.
I have about 1,000 emails from 5 or 6 years ago from the people that said this would never work and laughed at me daily. They are not laughing now.
Again thanks for supporting us and sticking up for us when need be.

The pro mod was cool, I spent 19 years on the road with that deal. I still have the one I won the championship with in my basement. I guess my family will sale it when I die. Lots of really good memories from those years.

Hello Quain! It's my pleasure. I learned about S.E.G. from watching "Big Daddy" Dale Wilson's YouTube videos.

I grew up in the 1970s and Modified Eliminator was my favorite category. Then came bracket racing on the local level. :(

Fast forward to the 21st century: High rpm (no electronics) 4-speed cars with cool old school paint and lettering banging gears are back!

I wish I lived a lot closer. I'd love to see the show in person. YouTube videos can only capture so much of the thrill and excitement.

The best of luck in the 2018 season!

Pete

Not just that. It's the classic cars! And 4-speeds! The simplicity of the race cars too (one you can build at home like was the norm during drag racing's "golden era"). Cool paint, lettering and names which give the cars a personality--unlike today--and unpredictable, high rpm gear-banging runs that keep you on the edge of your seat unlike the mostly automatic transmission-equipped, cookie-cutter race cars of today with their electronics and predictable runs which appear to fans in the stands like slot cars going down the track.

At least that's how I see it.

We are trying hard to get them out to the public. First exhibition race is planned for Clay City Ky May 5th if we get all of our ducks in a row. We are struggling now trying to keep all of the different combinations on a level playing field. Also trying to decide a 7" or 8" spec tire.
We won't put them out until we are sure we have covered all bases.

Quain , You drop down to Additional Options, then Manage attachments..Fairly straightforward from there. Might have to downsize or change format on some stuff.

Sorry but that Corvette would not be allowed to race with the Southeast Gassers because it does not have a straight axle frontend. Guess it was not a real gasser after all.

Sure wasn't, D/A (on the window) stands for D altered. It wasn't running Gas.
But i get your stab, SEGA don't allow control arm front ends. Guess we need to change the rules because the ones now suck so bad we don't have any cars or spectators.

You have done a great job with your program Mr. Stott. Just imagine if you allowed "real race cars" with any front end.
I'm sure you understand that the Corvette pictured could have run either Altered OR Gas, depending on which Eliminator the team chose to run.
As pictured, the Corvette shown could have run D/A in Competition Eliminator or E/G in Modified Eliminator with no changes. I expect you were unaware of the difference.
Unlike SEGA, NHRA never made straight axles a requirement for participation.
I was working with someone who wanted to build a Thunderbolt for your Super Stock class but cannot comply with your continuously arbitrary suspension rules.
Like you inferred.....You Don't Need Them Anyway!

Tom your right it's doing pretty good like it is. as a matter of fact we just shattered another spectator attendance record April 14th at our season opener. I just pic one of your comments to address because I'm running a little behind today. The reason we require a straight axle is because a man would be a fool to have a straight axle if it was nor required. The SEGA races first to the finish line wins so the real racers that are involved would be looking for every advantage possible so a straight axle would not be the first choice in the performance area. Same as the manual trans rule, what dummy would be racing a manual of the automatic was an option.
Yea I do know the difference in the classes I built and ran gas, modified and Super stock in the 1970's through the 80's.
When racing becomes first to the finish line wins a lot has to change in the rule book. Other gasser type deals don't even have one full page of rules and we have 27 pages.
Hope this helps you to understand the SEGA a little better and i'm always here to answer questions so please ask anytime.

In 67 he would have run Altered or Modified Sport.
In 68, when everything was in an uproar, he could
have run Gas, I guess, with 10% setback.

The gun control act of 1968 changed everything, too.
