Re: C4 Corvette build for Superstock I-J-K
Ernie…Beautiful job on the building of your car. Can't wait to see pictures of it on the ground with the wheels on. Really like the two tone silver colours. Good Luck at the Doctor today. Maurice

Re: C4 Corvette build for Superstock I-J-K
It amazes me how much you can trash on a car under the skin and still wind up with something that looks quite stock. Are you going wild on paint or sticking with an "undercover" look?

Re: C4 Corvette build for Superstock I-J-K
Ernie, I am glad all is well with the doctor. Also, thank you for your explanation of your clutch linkage. The photo that I have of your trans install etc shows what I was thinking. A prop shaft going along under the dash and a rod going down to a bell crank on your floor to operate the clutch fork? Do you have any photos of the finished clutch rod install? I am curious about where it goes down to the bell housing. It gives me ideas. How is the resistance of your clutch petal with the levers you have installed? Great looking build and thanks again, good luck. Robert

thanks on the doctors report. I don't have any pictures of the mechanism under the floor, pedal effort is fairly easy but, not as easy as my Cavalier. Ernie |

fuel line bracket, it took me a minute to make this little bracket with 3 legs on an angle
1 photo when the car was going back to David Tincher's shop 2 photos of Door Slammer race, Tincher drove it making the little lever that comes with cut-off usable for threaded rod style uni-ball connection. I filled with solder after drilling it with small holes. drilled and tapped 10-32, put a screw all the way through and used a flat washer and a jam nut. It worked as good as a billet one. |
Re: C4 Corvette build for Superstock I-J-K
Okay,
This is about all the pictures I got of this Corvette build. I may find something on another drive, or camera that might have a different photo. My pals may have something as well. I guess for now just enjoy what I have posted thus far. thanks for checking out my project Ernie Neal SS354 |
Re: C4 Corvette build for Superstock I-J-K
Ernie…The final result is very clean and outstanding. I recognize the thought that went into every aspect of the detailed construction. It has that proportionate and perfect stance. Maurice.

I thank you for all the kind words on my Corvette build and encouragement on my healing. I have been in the process of going back home. I have been staying at my sons (Ernie II). I am now all setup at home now. I can't wait for the season to start around here to get this Corvette at the track and running some respectable E.T.s. I did pay some attention to detail on the Corvette build. I built to please myself, right or wrong. I have built front wheel drive conversion cars and pickups, but I think this one was harder. Maybe it just fought me more. thanks again Ernie Neal SS354 |

Dale, I tried to find out that font, I think it is hoodornament. Okay guys, I have made one quarter mile pass at the Indy monsoon race. I did go a 9.74 in SS/I. I still have work to do. Of course I had to finish out the carpet before competition. This is what I came up with. I did have to seek professional help on this sewing job. I can't do that job!! I did try.
Some of you know I had open heart surgery back in January, I am all good with that. I did have to get the gall bladder removed mid April, man it has been a battle with all these weight restrictions. Anyway, enjoy some more Corvette photos Ernie Neal SS 354 |

Gotta love a guy that can build a beautiful Corvette and ALMOST do everything himself. LOL.....That is one sweet ride....

Re: C4 Corvette build for Superstock I-J-K
This is one impressive build.
Build a new car yourself, set up the 4 link, shocks, clutch, launch rpm, tires, gearing and everything to run a stick car and go .86 under on the first few hits! No simple task. Awesome job. |

I was only there on Saturday, Kevin and I tried to get around to see as many friends as possible, and I helped Jimmy Bridges a little. We didn't get to see nearly as many people as we hoped.
