Good morning all, its a little chilly this morning, but it will warm up to the mid 80's today. Stock is out first at 8:45 with Stock, Super Stock and the Super classes getting 3 more rounds in today.

Stock, Super Stock and the Super classes are done for the day. Only two rounds left in each for Sunday's finals. Things went very smooth today, we even had some down time between classes.

The first batch of photos is a sequence from Karl Martel's beautiful 69 Camaro. Karl has a bye into the final. I'll be back later with some radom shots of today's action when the crowds die down, the internet is kind of slow now.

More photos from today's action. It was another jam packed day with standing room only. The last photo is what the stands looked like about an hour before the pros ran. Although the fans are here for the pros, its nice to see big crowds. Maple Grove has been plagued with bad weather for many years, this weekends racing has been almost perfect.

The semi's should gives us some great racing. In Super Stock, Anthony Bertozzi takes on Lincoln Morehead with Byron Worner vs Mike Letellier. Stock has Karl Martel getting the bye and Phil Lankford taking on Lenny Williams.

As always it will be two rounds of the pros before the sportsman race again. Temps will be in the upper 80's to almost 90 tomorrow, but no rain. I will be here tomorrow with more photos of the finals.

Well its the final day, and as you can see from the first few photos most of the 260 sportsman racers have left. It will be a hot one today approaching 90 with lots of sun. The only car I found out it trailer this morning was Anthony Bertozzi's Grand Am.

Okay guys and girls, these are photos from the finals. I know many of you follow the Super class and Comp. I will have photos of the semi's and the finals late tonight or tomorrow so please check back in those sections.

Its been a blast as always, and although it was hot today, there was no rain and no major issues, a first in a very long time for this event. Congratulations to all the winners, my next live from will be at the Dutch Classic right here in Maple Grove in ten days.

Thanks for the reports and pictures. And though its not SS/S, congratulations to Tom Martino for adding a Comp Wally to his previous ones for Pro Stock and Super Gas.

BTW, does anyone know what is in those boxes marked 'Car' and 'Bike' at the finish line?

There was a 1969 AMX in a GT class in super stock that had a 250 foot wheel stand. Any idea what engine is in the car?

They had different sized AND different placement reflectors for the finish line "cones", I had seen a pair (of both) sitting on top of the boxes earlier in the day.

Yep that's exactly what they are different sizes for cars and motorcycles they are also spares for when someone plows into them

I would like to commend NHRA on the smooth parking process on Wednesday before the event. The process improved drastically at Maple Grove and Englishtown this year as we started parking a few minutes before 7am and they gave us our paperwork on our way in. In addition, 4 qualifying sessions in Stock and 3 in Super Stock along with class eliminations netted 9 runs for me in one day at a National Event! We were still done in time for everyone to go to the Mopar Mega Block Party. I'd love if we could run class on Friday when it is contested but I'm not complaining. Giving credit where credit is due.
