Keep in mind these heads still have to CC and have the same valve size as the head you're replacing.

How will they ever know !

Are you really sure about that?

The GMPP 401 head is actually an Edelbrock head (and in fact, the Edelbrock head itself is now approved), I'd strongly suggest that you look at the difference in specs for it and the rectangle port closed chamber heads it replaces. It (the replacement head) has its own chamber cc, port cc, and exhaust valve size.

Re: End of year HP

The way I read it is, if I run stock heads my hp is “X”. If I run aftermarket head pn1234 than my hp is “X” + 5. The reason I am adding 5(or however much) hp is because that is what these heads are deemed to be worth with their ports/valves/chambers/etc.

I think the difference from stock is acknowledged in the increase of hp.
What sbf has been approved for stock? Gt40p heads at +5hp? I’ll go for that thank you very much! Lol.

2015 Camaro at 391 hp will run A/SA at 3295# with driver.

If you racers with the street '15 Camaros will get with the program, it will take two automatic hits to get the engine above the 391 hp to run A/SA at Indy 2018. Yes I agree, it's never too early to be thinking of a Class Win at Indy.

The first hit will be the easiest and the most painful. A first hit of a 1.250 under run will change hp 4.25% or 16 hp. The second hit of -1.200 will adjust the power up to 394 hp. Min. A/SA weight with driver will be the same as the shipping weight of 3320#

Who said there is no Santa Clause ?

Now, now Street Camaro fans, don't get excited with the heavy foot! It only takes a 5 Hp (1.25%) hit to run in A.

Who you gonna call? A Mopar guy or an LS guy?

A smart but frugal racer once stated :" It does not cost a thing to pay attention "
