I don't know. I guess I'll have to go down to the local junkyard and see if there's any "fresh pickin's".

Mine would be a '70 Nova with the LT-1 35O/360 horse engine (same engine as the '70 Z28). Lots of documentation that at least 170 were built and sold. Most went to Yenko for their Yenko Duece program but not all. They were actually a COPO car, COPO 9737AA.

Unfortunately, it's not in the NHRA Classification Guide for the Nova body. It would make a killer good C or D car.

My dream car has always been a 1967 RO23 Hemi Belvedere. Every winter I would look at the thousands of my father's (God rest his soul) slides. And, as a kid, I saw slides of the Maddia Brothers car (now owned/campaigned by Danny Smith), and fell in love. So that, hands down, is mine.

Would be a good one. NHRA rated 320 stick or 325 Auto.

This would be in my top 5.

Great car. I love to see many of the old photos/slides reintroduced on many Facebook groups, I can look at them for hours.

I agree Alan. That's what I really wished I could have done with my Nova. Never understood why it wasn't in the guide. Especially since the engine is already in there for the Camaro.

My choice at this time:
Chevrolet 1956,210, four speeds, for the FGT/A class with a Copo 2016 350 Chevy supercharged engine...
(Car name will be something like " Fast Brick"...)
Enjoy,

My dads 56 chevy 150 SS car. But put into SS/L with two 4's!! It would be very hard to get that light, but fun.

That car is amazing!

If I had all the money in the world I would not have the heart to make it a race car.

I agree it would be fun. It would also be fun in SS/M with 1-4bbl. Crazy light. But running against the 302/210hp/5speed ford compared to the 265/200hp/4speed? There is allot out of line with that comparison. But fun never the less.

Bill, think that one crosses the line from dream to lust. But of course many of the cars listed do that! But still, nothing quite like the sound of a max wedge or Hemi

Still the same ..57 Nomad with a 283 / 245 for N/Stock.

Re: What is your dream S/SS car?

I already have most of them. Plus a low mileage 69 Z/28 RS now to get a 1962 Belair sport coupe 409 with the ultra rare aluminum front end. Cant see that one happening anytime soon. but you never know.

Re: What is your dream S/SS car?

Well I guess I have mine as well.
My 1956 Chevy is my first love. What's better than a 265 with two 4's
"wait I know",
A new 288 with Two (much bigger) 4's in SS/FM
Should reach my goal of a nine second run with the old girl at the Mission LODRS
in 2018
Next: My 1967 Fairlane SS/D, 427/425, of course with two 4's and a Liberty, ground-up rebuild from a tired old car. Should be a Rocketship! 2018 or 2019 debut.

Mike, if I bought and maintained it there would be some disappointed kids around here when they split up their inheritance.

Re: What is your dream S/SS car?

Just finishing my 1965 Impala 396/325HP I/SA car, I see 1965 was the only year the 396/425HP Hi-Po rectangular port motor was available in Impala and Corvette, NHRA refactor to 385 HP, 395 HP with the Edelbrock replacement head.

1966 and on the Hi-Po motor was the 427/425HP NHRA rated 435, 445. 396 only came in the 325HP version in full size Chevy's

SO.... my dream would be to build that motor for the car, it would be a natural D/S car, heavy E/S (4200 lbs) , using the aluminum Edelbrock heads maybe could be light enough for C/S !

I am assuming I could use a Automatic in the car now with that motor, but maybe put the Jerico in! 7500 RPM launches in the big ole Chevy! The car is built to run a stick like my 68 was.

Not too sure it would be competitive, but damn fun.

Re: What is your dream S/SS car?

I have my dream car. I bought it when I was 13 and still race it today.

However is money was no object it would be fun to build a SS/AM 67 Fairlane. I Always loved watching Tom Huggins 69 Camaro AM car back in the 90's
