Re: Sports Nats moves back to Columbus....
I talk to a LOT of racers daily, almost all are from out of town....NEVER has one racer said,.....MJ, I can’t wait to get to COLUMBUS....Unfortunately Beech Bend was victimized by horrible weather forecasts the past two years, if not for that there would have been awesome racer and spectator crowds.....

Re: Sports Nats moves back to Columbus....
I don't think it has anything to do with Dallas or the BG facility, Jeg's sponsors it and they want it in their backyard.

Well that's discouraging.... I'd say Trails is already weak in the customer services department. ...or maybe I'm just spoiled from racing at Norwalk this year? |

Re: Sports Nats moves back to Columbus....
Does anyone understand that
We racers just got a semi national event back to go racing Can’t you folks see the positive about this Not sorry that you folks have lost a race in your backyard Bowling Green as a location and date doesn’t work for D1 racers Now you folks will See Some Fast Cars Lol. You know More competition Thanks Jegs for moving the race |
Re: Sports Nats moves back to Columbus....
Agreeing with Mr. Perrone...
Another look on the positive side......D3 gets another National Open?! and retains the National Event. Jegs also has used the Columbus-located event to bring hundreds of Vocational High School Students to the races on Friday. Good PR for Jegs, and a way to maybe garner attention to what we do. One year it took me about 4 hours to adjust the valves on my car because so many students stopped by. For someone like me who spends half of my 80+ hour work-week teaching, it was pretty fun to teach these kids. Ty |
Re: Sports Nats moves back to Columbus....
I love Bowling Green, great people to race with and against and the facility is top notch. For people in the east its a 14+ hour ride on top of one of our largest attended points races in division 1 on a holiday weekend. That makes it tough to attend.
Since the demise of Etown we are very short on national events in the northeast. Having it moved back to Columbus gives the D1 racers another one and a chance to race for class. if they could only suspend the Afhs for that race, that would make it alot of fun Happy to have it back closer |

Re: Sports Nats moves back to Columbus....
Must be the Jeg's sales are better back east. It's 2000 miles from California to Bowling green and 2250 to Columbus Oh. More like the back east Sports Nationals.

No one is "crying", and there's no need for the attitude. None. There's nothing to be gained by it. Yeah, some people are not happy about it. I don't remember saying "screw you D1 guys" when it moved to Bowling Green. Oh well. We don't NEED Jeg's down here, it was just nice. And if it's not where you want to be, we don't NEED anyone else down here. Nice to see you guys, and fun to race with you. But we ain't gonna die without you. |
Re: Sports Nats moves back to Columbus....
"You west coast racers"... Wonder what that means. I was born and raised in Rochester New York. I raced for 20 years in division one. I personally had no grips with a west coast person. Division one and division three race tracks are a lot closer together than other divisions..The map gets real big out west I can say for sure.Travel up and down the rock mountains a few times in division 5.That will test your nerves and equipment.
