Great job as usual Boss on the reporting! Some of you might have noticed but I was the no show in Stock. It really appears it's just not meant for me to go to Maple Grove, last year we had the hurricane to deal with. This year my dad passed away last Sunday but when a spot opened up on Monday I got back in and really had all intentions of going however misguided as it was at the moment. Well some things came up with work Tuesday and Wednesday and I got those taken care of rushed home late Wednesday took a shower and was ready to hit the road anyway. By the time I got all cleaned up I think I realized I was physically and emotionally drained so I threw in the towel so to speak. Congrats to all the winners and especially my ole buddy Bob Bender for giving me something to cheer about this week!

The boss did his usual fantastic job, all of our live reporters really ease the "pain" of not being there, especially in this case since the Grove is on my bucket list and it just never got below quota. Next year I'll have more than my current 4 grade points and hopefully can get in. Despite my misgivings about NHRAtv, having the opportunity too see the sportsman champion interviews on the return road was a big bonus. Looks like the stock championship is going down to the wire even with Santangelo winning since Jody kept pace and there are several who have a shot. Promises to be quite the race and plan on even attending Vegas to see how it unfolds.

Cooter, my deepest sympathies for your loss and look forward to seeing you again at Galot or the Rock.

Looking at all you said here, I'd say you made the right choice. Losing a parent is overwhelming and very intense to say the least. I lost my Mom in 1996 and my Dad in 1997 and still miss them ALOT. Take your time and remember all the good things. Good luck to you and hope things go well for you. Godspeed to your Dad.

I made that mistake almost 13 years ago. I didn't call my mother on Sunday evening like I usually did, then the next morning about 7 AM at work, I got a call that her medic alert bracelet had been activated. Trying to return the call to her house, all I got were either busy signals or ringing with no answers.I took a drive over to the house and my brother's brother in law got there at the same time. We went in, and I found her lyng crossways on her bed. She had been gone only about an hour. I never had that final call with her. You just never know. Things like that happen, you try to get back to normal, but nothing will really ever be just the same.

With the weather swings from Thursday's triple H weather to Friday's overcast, fall weather, Saturday rain showers and onto Sunday's beautiful sunny warm day, it wasn't the easiest event to dial a car.

Hats off to the NHRA for their efforts to get the track dried and finish up on schedule on Saturday and the overall track prep. My car ran identical to thousand, 60 foot and 1000 foot ET from our last pass on Saturday, the 1/4 finals after 2 rain delays to Sunday's semi final about 24 hours later.

Congrats to all the winners and to my son, in his 2nd national event final of the season, a rematch from Epping two months earlier, on his first National event win. Just AWESOME!

Because the boss is a fair man, besides it’s his house. On NHRAtv they showed all the sportsman champion interviews (they were great) and the young man gave a good humble interview. Guess I’d be bragging about my son as well and time will tell if the reprieve was warranted.

Why didn't he post this on the .90 Heads Up Class Racing forum? Because he wants to shove it up our butts.

It's sad that the son has to suffer the sins of his father. Congrats to the young man, he ran a great race.

it's sad that a few old men have nothing to add about this event, yet feel the need to post their negative comments and opinions in response to a post congratulating the winners of this event including my son.

Ed, if you didn't alienate so many people on internet sites we wouldn't be having this conversation. your son is a very talented racer I wish him success in the future.

this thread is about the Maple Grove Nationals, the racers who competed at this event and the winners of this event, not your assumption of who posting on this message board besides you that doesn't agree with my advice and opinions.
