Any challenger water car will work well and reasonable. As a showroom stock car it can run 3 motors and 9 classes from A to J. More info is available if you are interested.

As far as the car goes. It seems the Camaro has the better engine out of the box, over the Mopar. Are there any guys the run the new style Challenger in the slower classes? Has anyone taking a street car and made it in to a stocker or has everyone just bought a Drag Pack car? Really like the Challenger but it looks like the most work out of the bunch and I can't find any info on converting it to a straight axle rear suspension! (IF ANYONE HAS KNOWNLAGE ON THIS PLAESE PM ME!!!!) The corvette seems to like it will be the hardest to work on based on the size of the car. So, at this moment in time I'm leaning towards the Camaro. Will probably change 50 times before I pull the trigger.

Thanks for all the responses. Keep them coming. Chris[/QUOTE]

Hi Chris,

I have built a Challenger Drag Pak ( clone). It was a lot of fun... or should I say... is. I still have to finish it. Soon.
You can build one as a "Show Room Stock", that would utilize a street engine combination. That would lessen the cash outlay vs a Drag Pak Engine. It still uses the rear straight axle and 4 link.
I would be happy to talk to you and let you know what all is involved.
I will PM you with contact info.

I must have been typing when Jeff posted this.
All I can say when it comes to late model Challengers, If Mr Jeff has something to say, listen.

Chris ,. Your Camaro thoughts are a good one. If your on a limited budget and prefer a carburator over F.I. car, a 70 with a 350 2 barrel, natural N car , NHRA rated 224 HP is worth a strong review. Pretty easy to make this 2 barrel combo run under the index.

My son just finished his last year of eligibility and will join me in Sportsman next season and hopefully we will have a stocker together in the next couple of years.
