Wayne, when was ZK racing this car? First time I ever seen him was at Mission in the mid 70s, but at that time he had a red 64 or 65 Chevelle , also called "Nite Rider". He came out to visit another transplanted Saskatchewan racer, Randy Swain. When he came out, another Sask. racer came with him, bringing along his AMX S/S car.

There was this 57 Chevy Sedan Delivery called Lil Thumper. Had a rabbit on the door. I always liked this car.

Rory....I bought the Camaro as a roller from ZK in 1977 or so. ZK used the proceeds to go toward the purchase of the Chevelle. IIRC, that red Chevelle was actually the old Bodnarchuk and Woods car out of Manitoba...and at the time, it was truly bad to the bone (held the record multiple times - note the decklid in the photo below). ZK and Larry (the guy with the Super Stock AMX) both worked the counter at Midwest Automotive in Saskatoon, SK. Randy Swain did quite a bit of machining for me in the Seventies.

Al Bodnarchuk (who is on this site) can correct me if I'm wrong on the lineage of ZK's Chevelle.

First pic is of ZK under the Chevelle ("Nite Rider II"):

The next fuzzy Instamatic photo is of ZK racing Gary Waldner (aka "Waldo") heads up. Waldo's car was named "Mr. Magoo". It was a really nice car for the era:

Tons of ancient memories! Take care Rory....

I would say early 70's,he then ran the S/STK Chevelle. His last car was a 3rd gen.S/STK Camaro.I used to split motel costs with him and Ernie Penner when we ran down south.ZK passed on way too soon!...gsa612

As Jim went from a 69 Camaro Z/28 with a smallblock to an Opel GT with a Buick V6, he went with the name "Wind of Change". With that Buick V6 being a 3.8 Liter engine, the name "Gallon of Go" was entertained also, along with "Buzzin' Half Dozen".

Back in the mid 60's Dick Moroso car was named the
Yankee Cheater in gold leaf on the top of the rear fender area.

He received a lot of crap over the name and decided to change within a few months.

It seems the tech guy's thought he was cheating for real and started looking very close at the car.

Jim, Mike Bowyer lived a few blocks from our house in Delta, I still remember seeing him drive that car past our house, all lettered up, and sounding cooler than hell. Made a big impression on my then adolescent mind! I seem to recall there was more stickers and possibly different lettering on the 57, did it look different over the years?

I wanted to get into Stock eliminator since I started racing, I told my ex-wife that it was a dream of mine to race at divisionals and eventually a National event. She said it was nothing but a pipedream and I should concentrate on making more money. I finally built a car with lots of help from Neil Smedley and Jess Suter, while I was building it, someone asked what I was gonna name it, and I wasn't sure at the time. I mumbled something about my dream is almost there and I had to explain what I meant. It was unanimous, PIPEDREAM became the name. I haven't won a divisional or a National yet, and I will keep trying. I was #1 qualifier at a National, and was featured in a Pontiac magazine and I had to send a copy of the magazine to each of the kids and to the ex wife certified mail, so I know she got it.

You are probably thinking of Peter driving Don Rudolphs Chevy II, "Canned Heat" I'm pretty sure he won at least 1 Division Title in it....

The "BAT" as we used to call it was a great car and Joe Foster was a great guy and racer. He won the Pro Et division title around 1984 and tied for the Division S/ST title around the same era.

The car was wrecked at Atco when either an axle broke or wheel studs and the tire got under the car and it rolled.

"Tempus Fugit" was always one of my favorites....Rick Wolfe....A Mopar SS'er……..Latin for Time Flys….

My good friend Ted Razmus Nova……."Razoom" Often mistaken for Ed Racis C/SM car.....same color, same hood scoop....
