Wyatt I was just answering the persons fix. Can't answer why it changed. Maybe a heim joint or a front end bushing. Beautiful car and sorry for the small technical let down.

Re: Eating Crow - Tear Down at Indy
No need to "eat crow" SDS !! Teardown is a complete dog n pony show to preserve the "I care" image !! Bubski remembers the SSnDI mags of the day at the ford dealership with the dry erase board of who's "in n out" n there was a lot of people out unlike today !! Teardown is only a numbers game today !! CC's , bore , stroke , casting #s . Bubski could go on but id rather not !! What Bubski is saying !! is that in stock you don't get counted for grinder strokes across your heads n intake !! Only CC's n valve sizes !! N never cam journals !! That poor fella who got bounced for wheelbase !! What a joke !! Did they measure his wheelbase like a thrust angle alignment ??

Re: Eating Crow - Tear Down at Indy
Were you able to roll the car back and forth and then recheck it? I know the car does some great wheel stands has it ever came down hard that could of bent the lower control arms. You have done a great job driving the car, keep it up and put this behind you. Tom

Re: Eating Crow - Tear Down at Indy
I got tossed by Wesley at a Div 4 Meet in 2008. probably saved me a crash. The Rt. Front strut and lower control arm had issues. Could roll it back and get about 1" more than when you pushed the car forward.

Wyatt,
I'm sorry for your experience. Could you not have issued a appeal to Lonnie and insisted on removing all four wheels? After all its Indy. Frank |
Re: Eating Crow - Tear Down at Indy
Out of curiosity, what was the wheelbase measurement when you measured it yourself prior to the event?
What was the actual dimension when you measured it post event? |

NHRA announced last night that next year we would return to racing on Monday so I would guess we will see a more normal schedule. Mike McMahan 2543 H/SA

Re: Eating Crow - Tear Down at Indy
Very glad to see the teardowns in effect. And in particular, the checking of the wiring, electronics, and ecu files/datalogs.
And really liked the barn video with Lonnie. I also really love how he consistently said 'the customer' in that video. Very cool. |
Re: Eating Crow - Tear Down at Indy
Lonnie is a class act and I hope NHRA does everything possible to keep him for a long time.

Re: Eating Crow - Tear Down at Indy
Asking a question. Why did only one car fail while all the others in teardown passed the wheelbase check? A measurement of 106 3/4 on a 108 W.B. is 1 1/4 short. The rulebook allows +/- 3/4 inch. Look closely at the Video. It looks like the rear wheel is moved forward in the wheel well opening.

Re: Eating Crow - Tear Down at Indy
Just questing but if WB is 108” it can be 107 1/4” to 108 3/4”. Everything else is wrong.
