Tim worked for Delphi, Cummins and Penske Racing prior to joining NHRA. I have always enjoyed the technical subject conversations that have taken place with Tim and he has always backed up his responses with an email. |
Re: TorqueHead vs Opti
The part numbers for the LT1 crank sensor.
12552427 Timing Cover 10190917 Reluctor Wheel 19170837 Crank Sensor I have forwarded this to Pat for his consideration. |
Re: TorqueHead vs Opti
I got a call from Pat wanting to know if I ran a crank trigger, supposedly called several other racers wanting to know the same.
Time will tell what will happen. thanks Dan, |

NHRA does it all the time. Stock Eliminator does not lend well with the aftermarket industry. Should be some sort of rule allowing bolt on upgrades. Crate Motor offered some of that. Like allowing under used engines such as big Caddy engines in BOP cars. Bolt on 4bbls like on the mid70/80 Mustangs and Monzas. Under used Ford 300cuin 6 with a 4bbl. Or for that matter let the 6 cylinder AMC guys have the better heads. Or flattop Pistons for the Low compression BOP cars. 74 Firebird with 10:1 compression would be a A stocker. Much like Pure Stock Drags and FAST do. Just my 2 cents |

OH DEAR
The Pearl Clutchers fanatically have come out in a panic !. Upset over a suggestion about Crate Motors..!!! Delusional Dan has infuriated your brains again ! Oh that must Hurt you poor dears gray matter ! However I feel honored by that name and in good company. As you are all just as delusional as I !! Having to be racing Stock Eliminator !! Just amazed how weak kneed and pathetic bunch of wankers you all are ! You all are so weak and frail, you couldn't pick up a bag of Mulch! Must be the gas fumes or the coastal weed. Dudes you have been systematically Crate Motored for Decades. Little bit here and there. At least IHRA has the balls to create it ! Which you blew off ! Decades ago you got open Spring and Cam rule to become SS Lite. Or is it Modified Stock now !! Fancy pants Crank Triggers and aftermarket ignitions. Oh that discussion sure went off the rails ! What were you able to move to get that 30incher shoved in there? Oh !! how about those new SOLID Lifters and Roller Rockers. Because of too much Spring wore down your High Lift Cams. You all could not get Stiff enough !! The Viagra lube must be wearing off. What next after market cylinder heads ..OH MY !!! What will you do next.. !!!????? What they are already here !!????????? Tisk, which one? There are so many ! Ooh Rhet what should I do ???? Got to know what Jewelers do you all go to ? Must pic all your Favorite Spouses off. Having more Jewelry on your cars than your own Wife(s) ! ;-) If you still have one wanting to hang around. For the Pearl Clutchers be sure to try on the Double Roller Necklaces ! Understand they are on SALE !! Proudly !! Delusional Dan |

How to make friends and influence people, negatively ! Oh my LT-1 that I ran 15 years ago, I had a crank trigger on it like many others. Passed tech anywhere. 15 years later an NHRA tech man says the trigger is not legal. Makes sense to me !! No it doesn’t ! |

When I asked for help, got grief. The Rule as it is written did not make sense. Even the Rule Maker has to check up on it! You all even contradicted yourselves over the same rule. All documented in this thread. So asked the Expert and I posted the feedback and... Well, see you are another of those vindictive Pearl Clutchers !! D |
Re: TorqueHead vs Opti
Dan I’ve read your posts and let’s just say we don’t agree on lots of things
What I would hope for is you run stock somewhere and if I were running stock I would protest you everytime I saw you I’d pay whatever fee necessary to see you pull a piston and maybe some other of your “friends” in stock would join me as we watched. Sound good Delusional Dan ? I’m old school and yes things like that were done and are still in the rule book. Rarely if ever done but in your case might help. It’s only money Bring your tools and probably an engine hoist or go home What goes around comes around |

Re: TorqueHead vs Opti
Dear Dan. If 45 out of 46 cars run a crank trigger then you can safely assume that nhra will allow you to run a crank trigger. If nhra lets everyone run it then there is no problem. Just go buy a crank trigger set up and it solves your problem. Lots of well known racers have given you advice. It would do you good and follow their advice even if you don’t agree with it. I don’t know you personally but most racers will always give you good honest advice. Please be respectful to the people who are honestly trying to help you. I Don’t want to ruffle your feathers but just tone down your rudeness and accept the advice. Happy thanksgiving To you and your family Dan.
