Gary, Tucson did not do well with the low car count. I’m not sure that they would want another divisional without some guarantee from NHRA.

That's no lie. Last week they had a couple of the street burners from TV ...Farm Truck and AJO ? A HO?...I'm sure the place was packed.
A couple of years ago they had street burner # 2 ..Lil Daddy or Daddy Dan or something. We were there for a bracket race during the day .No spectators of course. As soon as it was over , the crowd started pouring in for the TV guys..It was huge!

They know what side of the bread the butter's on..Can't blame them .Without 500-600 cars the NHRA stuff is a loser. Better face reality in 2022, guys.

That sounds like mid July here in north Idaho LOL

It would help car counts if the events were not scheduled "back to back". If the schedule posted here is right. Here is part of what a lot of D1, D3 and Canadians will probably do.

Cecil County Dragway (Regional) May 20-21
Maple Grove Raceway (Regional) May 27-29
Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park (Regional) June 3-5
Lebanon Valley Dragway (Regional) June 10-12

I've never tried to do anything like this! Don't break anything!

I simply don’t understand why they refuse to move the Topeka double date. It’s been this way for years. It’s miserable out there.

Well California sucks.. We have ZERO Divisionals and (3) Nationals. A sad state of affairs sure. Looks like we may be running D4 in 2022.

Orlando National Open week or 2 before baby Gators??? While my ride wont be ready by February, an open that time of year at that track could be VERY entertaining!

D4 looks like the place to be for some teams despite the dearth of quality race venues. You have to give it to the core D4 racers, they make it happen with few complaints.

Re: NHRA Lucas race schedule

That's a bummer, but I am not too surprised. I wasn't originally planning on going to Tucson either given the somewhat yo yo effect of Phoenix to Vegas, to Tucson, and back to Vegas (especially after my only winning one round of one race this year). I (unlike many others), changed my mind and showed up. My budget may have thought it was a waist of money, but it was a semi-home race, and it gave me one extra race to enjoy running #78 on my car.

We only have four races on our schedule thus far, so it'll be interesting who'll step up for the other 1-3(?) races next year. I feel better about LVMS than either Tucson or Sonoma.

I wish we still had RMR!!!

Per FB : National Open April 8-10 at Mooresville, double races with the Lucas Oil series at Silver Dollar, Rockingham and Galot. With potential for more Opens.

Sorry D1 folks, these Opens are 1/8

Agree Mark.
NHRA ....We need a double at Sonoma and hopefully a Bakersfield race . Otherwise it’s getting beat up on I 5 for 10 or more hours. Will Pomona be or new close race??

This makes me wish their points race would've been scheduled the weekend prior to the Vegas national event, instead of after the Vegas doubleheader. Why? They could've used the prior wknd., to snare racer's from the east-southeast area enroute to Vegas.

Chip last year it was great to have VMP as a double. I had hoped that we would see more of them this year. Not only because of the prices of fuel but the time it takes to participate in this sport. In Div one it looks like a race almost every weekend. I love to race as much as most people but it's nice to have some weekends off. BP

Better Spectator draw at OK City in Spring...
Probably realized they were in a college town area and up against College football.

In Oklahoma it can be any of the above.

The biggest weather risk will probably be rain.

We used to have pretty good turnout in Noble. The last few years have been low on the car count. It didn't help that St Louis was stacked on top of it this year. I can remember more rain there than not over the years, I guess we'll see what happens.

It doesn't make sense to me why they moved Indy points race back one week. That will be the weekend for qualifying at the Indy 500.
