Re: “Live “ from Norwalk 2022
Congratulation to the winners! Yes, there are winners already. In a repeat of Gainesville, Sunday will be an all-Pro show, due to expected rain in the early to mid-day hours. However, instead of holding the Sportsman classes over to late Sunday night or even Monday, everything from Comp down was run out to completion on Saturday night.
How was this decision viewed by those involved?? |
Re: “Live “ from Norwalk 2022
I lost Saturday morning so the decision to finish the sportsman racing had no affect on us. I only spoke with a few but everyone agreed with get er done and get out before weather takes over.
Saturday morning wait time at the ice cream stand 30-45 min, and it’s always worth the weight. First round winners had to scale and had what I call “The Dope Search”: open the doors get out and Tech checks many different things quickly. In the car, in the trunk, and wherever. It helps keep us honest. Congrats to Joe for winning Stock two years in a row, now he has two Scoops |

Lenny
With me weight and car balance is always an issue. One year for Indy to get the truck to min. weight I had to get down to 250 lbs. No one had seen me that light in 20 years. People were asking Patsy if I was ok since I lost so much weight. |

Larry Hills' Dumbo Q'd # 2, -1.268, 9.332 in FS/D at the 2020 Cajun Classic at Belle Rose Louisiana.
The Elephant will fly again! Dare I say a top 16 or better at the Big Go. Larry always has a plan. |

like I mentioned make Saturday's bigger deal as the Sportsman will be the main attention not a passing idea to fill in downtime on Sunday Just a thought about highlighting the Sportsman away from the pros. Still running in front of Fans on Saturday if a racer wants that to me it does not matter, Make the Purse ten times with the main sponsor for them on Saturday. The sponsor will get more advertising impressions for them this way |
Re: “Live “ from Norwalk 2022
Saturday or Sunday
Nhra doesn’t make a big deal about sportsman Same $ and trophy on either day By the way Gump I wouldn’t have known you won Until I checked Dragrace. Central. 😂 |
Re: “Live “ from Norwalk 2022
Don, while most of us would love to run for 10 x the money, I think we are
aware if NHRA found a sponsor willing to pay an extra 20,000.00 or so per race ( 40,000.00 if 10 x Stock & Super Stock) or approx. 800,000.00 per year, that money would become the new NHRA/Zinger/Blastoff/ Total Point Runoff Spectacular Race within a Race, for the pros. Unfortunately, if we want to run to completion on Saturday in front of a crowd, a round of the pro's would have to be run after we were finished, or we would be racing in front of a crowd just slightly larger than we have at points meets.
