Re: Divisional at Famoso
For those of you that don’t know, this car was driven and owned by his uncle, that passed away, and at that time the Intake was legal. In the last year NHRA decided to remove it from the list, Joe did not know.

Re: Divisional at Famoso
Well if this would have been a 1.15 under run would he have turned himself in???? I bet not, if this was another brand all you mopar racers would be looking for blood, but he’s a good guy, threatens a older stock racer that didn’t even call them what they are. CHEATER

Re: Divisional at Famoso
I'm very sure Jim Hale being THE 383 authority can clarify which intake is the best and legal.
John for them to threaten you like that should be investigated by the N.H.R.A. and I also believe the D7 team has some explaining to do regarding their decision to re-classify this car especially after the -1.21 run in Stock Eliminator. This is outrageous and I for one have never heard of this happening before. |

Re: Divisional at Famoso
No worries John. Got your back. Our very own eagle eye in division 7 and traveler spotted the infraction before the fuel check was complete. You'll have to guess who.
I had the pleasure of pitting next to Chad and Sherry Langdon. What great folks! I enjoyed hearing Sherry scream with excitement from afar. Chad was driving great. I broke a starter after first round of class and Chad was there to save my butt and I was able to pull off the C/SA class trophy. The traction was tricky to say the least. During class while helping the champ in D/SA. We ended up putting weight back in. Myself I lowered my launch RPM to 2400. One racer ask if I leave at idle...nearly! I enjoyed getting to visit friends, to tell old fish stories, have a bunch of laughs and some very close races that sure were a great time. Paul Haszlauer 7019 C/SA |

It has been awhile since I've won class. If anyone wonders at times why we class race. First the build up on the scales "your good!" Then Pat hands you the trophy, shakes your hand "Nice Job!" Then they called us for photos. As you coast your hotrod to the lanes I heard "nice Job, way to go." I could only wish my wife was there. Besides her support. She also would have told me my face was as dirty as it could get. Great fun!

Re: Divisional at Famoso
Paul-
well said-congrats on your class win this weekend. 4 very good cars in C/SA. Also, congrats on going deep rounds in the eliminator yesterday (didn't get the chance to speak with you after you waxed me). There was great class racing in many classes. Paul Wong has the Cuda flying! Great to see. Mark Kirby was impressive in F Auto. Great job to all class winners. |

REPLACEMENT VEHICLES
"The event director has the option of allowing a driver utilize a replacement vehicle, but only under the following conditions: 1. The original vehicle is withdrawn from competition and cannot be reinstated. 2. Replacement vehicle cannot have been utilized by any other contestant at the same event. 3. Replacement vehicle must be fully certified and must pass technical inspection prior to continuation of competition. 4. Driver must stay within original eliminator category and class entered. Just words in a rule book written and ignored by the powers that be. |

Re: Divisional at Famoso
I was expecting a few more cars. Then I had to get gas. Even seeing the price. Until you actually pump in 60.00 and the gauge barely moves. Holy cow! That first 60 was at 6.50 a gallon. We went to eat. I was cheering to find 5.80 on the way. Brutal! If you've never been to Bakersfield. As you travel down route 65 to the track. It is all oil field with pumps doing their thing everywhere.

Re: Divisional at Famoso
The 62-67 383 had the 666, 301, intakes approved 16 years ago and everyone was running them. I was running the 666 on my car, someone complained about unfair advantage and NHRA banned both. Leaving one that will not work and is 30 hp down from the other two. Mr Hale took the fight to NHRA and out of it, the 6267 383 keeps the 301 but lost the 666. The 301 is faster on my car! I went to a 1968 car. I talked to the Gentleman that had the 1964 car in ISA and last time car was run. It was legal and they did not know of the rule change.
