After reading some of the conspiracy theory comments here, it makes me laugh at the amount of ignorant persons that still follow the orange one. good luck with the rest of your days, you are going to need it.

If we cannot get along on our differences, without name calling and shaming, and we're tied together by this sport, how do we expect the
general public to do it without tearing each other apart?
If we don't like who is in power, get involved, back a candidate, or
move to a state that represents your belief system. We are all getting
to old to be miserable for our last 30 years.

You are absolutely right. That is my claim by observation given Trump has all the attributes of a sociopath which are:
  1. Failure to conform to social norms concerning lawful behaviors, such as performing acts that are grounds for arrest.
  2. Deceitfulness, repeated lying, use of aliases, or conning others for pleasure or personal profit.
  3. Impulsivity or failure to plan.
  4. Irritability and aggressiveness, often with physical fights or assaults.
  5. Reckless disregard for the safety of self or others.
  6. Consistent irresponsibility, failure to sustain consistent work behavior, or honor monetary obligations.
  7. Lack of remorse, being indifferent to or rationalizing having hurt, mistreated, or stolen from another person.
Trump exhibits all those. All I am saying is, as you did, ask for proof. The elections were not stolen.

Because I have never seen a mainstream politician push a bill that radical.

Fringe idiots on both sides sponsor and author all sorts of stupidity, and insanity.

Al,
I am not sure if Dr Oz said this or not.

But the Trump backed candidate for governor said it many times in his TV ads

J.R. , I don't want to get along with liberals..I want to defeat them at every turn.
They've done enough damage to the institutions we grew up with already.
This country can't hardly stand any more liberalism.

I'm a long ways from being a liberal. But somehow, not necessarily on this site as you guys know me, Us Democrats get lumped in as liberals. There ARE moderate Democrats.Heck usually I don't even agree with them, but I gotta vote for someone. Our choices suck, and I think so does yours.I'm classed as a Independent on paper, but I split my ticket and vote accordingly.I think I voted for 3 Republicans this time and they all won, but in Ohio, Republicans win everything so I might as well voted straight party. Don't make any difference.Too bad in all the millions of folk in this country we can't find someone with common sense.

Re: Who Will Stop This Madness?

Mark, I don't want to do the Liberals any favours either. I just want some
peace in our lives. Right now, neither side is brimming with talent. We had
a great chance at a leader with strong policies that were very good for
everybody, but his sideshow turned too many people the other way. I'm
sure the libs are not exactly excited about Sleepy Joe mumbling, tripping,
and forgetting where he is. The choices are slim all over. If you look at
most entry level politicians, they are people who are generally not employable at most levels of society. They jump on the bandwagon, knowing that if they can grab two terms, it's pension for life!! And these
are the people making decisions about our lives. Scary.

All one needs to do is study California. We have had one party rule for many years. Democrats held every state-wide office and have had 2/3 majority so they can do whatever they want. I lived here all of my life and this state is just about ruined beyond repair. I'm leaving as soon as I can. Democrats can't help themselves when there are no consequences to their actions. Let them have control of the country and they'll ruin it also. Newsom is probably going to run for president and I can't think of a worse choice in our entire history.

Why aren't you living out here in California's Democrat utopia? If you did, it might change your perspective some.
Florida runs rings around California in every respect and I assure you, you would probably give up and flee this state like so many others.

I have no issues with California. It has the best Veteran programs in the country: Property tax exemption, auto fee exemption, tuition free universities for spouse and children. Best medical in the country. What do I have to bitch about. I break even on taxes every year. Got the great weather, the mountains, the ocean and the desert. I have time now to do the volunteer work I enjoy.

Glad it works for you Eddie. Are the advantages you list for Retired Military only? Would assume they don’t apply to veterans but doesn’t hurt to ask.

What about our school kids that place about 49th in education, the highest gas prices in the nation, the homeless problems, the very high cost of living, etc. your doing fine, good for you, but California is failing for a lot of people.
Did you see where Newsom signed a bill that punishes Dr.’s who give out information contrary to STATE approved medical advise. 😮

Each state is different, the programs I was referring are CalVet. But they are open to all Veterans regardless of the number of years served as long as it was "Honorable". I am also rated at 100% disabled. You may want to check your Department of Veteran Affairs at https://veterans.georgia.gov/

You are wrong on the school rating, it is 44 but we still have some the best universities in the nation and students have to complete an SAT/ACT to get in, does Berkley, Stanford and USC sound familiar. Both of my daughters were AP students in high school and had no problems getting into the school of their choice. California also has the largest apprenticeship programs in the country. The cost of everything in California is higher but so are the wages. California is not a "Right to Work" state. Failure to improve your lot in life via training and education is not a failure of the State but a failure of the individual. If you can't afford to live here...move on! Homelessness is transparent it is everywhere, example: there are 48,000 Vets in this country that are homeless and we have a Vet taking their life very day at a rate of 16.8 per day. What are the Feds (Dems/Repubs) doing about that? What makes this country great is the fact that is the land of opportunity and choice. It is not perfect, but it is ours!

Governor Gavin Newsom has signed a bill that will subject doctors to discipline and possible suspension of their licenses for spreading misinformation about the covid-19 pandemic to patients. Let's get the whole story here...Good for Newsom!!

Gee, I agree with everything you just wrote above. It makes you sound like a conservative! I was partner in a union construction business and we had up to 100 employees. California goes out of its way to make running a business very difficult. They mandate every aspect of what we do and have their hands in our pockets with taxes and fees. They regulated our trucks, our warehouse and even our parking lot. They tell us who we could employee and keep statistics on our employees by race and gender.
Our journeyman cost us over $72.00hr to employ and we were having a hard time getting apprentices who were willing to work. Most young people don’t want to work hard and move through the apprenticeship program. They want government hand outs and wages beyond what their skill levels are and the politicians will make sure they get it in return for votes. But then the complaints start all over again as the cost of living outpaces their handouts and minimum wages. A vicious cycle that needs to end.

When in Rome do as the Romans do. My wife is a Wage Compliance Officer monitoring prevailing wage on public works jobs. Recovering this year $3.5 million in wages that workers are cheated out of by management, the majority are out of state and nonunion employers. She is a retired Deputy Labor Commissioner. If you want to come to this state you will hear from people just like her. Floating through an apprenticeship has gotten harder here, example are electricians have to pass a certification test after school, you don’t pass you don’t work. So slacking off in school won’t work. And lowballing a bid on a contract and then complaining about what you have to pay your employees is nonsense. I push a lot of military personnel to consider the trades.

It was Jimmy Carter.

It was Jimmy Carter.

After a close check….Congress passed and President Reagan signed into law the 1983 Amendments. Under the '83 Amendments, up to one-half of the value of the Social Security benefit was made potentially taxable income.

Re: Who Will Stop This Madness?

Alright, 1969 Johnson adm. took S.S. from an independent fund into the Fed. Budget. 1977 Carter adm. made it possible for the Fed. to "borrow" funds from S.S.. 1982 Regan adm. made it possible to "tax" S.S. if certain income thresholds (50%) were met (obtw, on a bipartisan vote) based on income. 1993 Clinton adm. raised "taxable" threshold from 50% to 85%..

What else would you like to talk about? How about those racist Kennedy bros. and the way they tried to trash M.L.K. Jr.?
How about Johnson's "Great Society" and his famous quote, "I'll have those n----rs voting Democrat for the next 200 years!".

You failed to mention that Carter raised payments of Social Security by 14%. Under Reagan Fed chief Paul Volcker pushed interest rates to new heights—21.5 percent in 1982. The sky-high rate pulled inflation down, but took its toll on the economy, which shrunk by 3.6 percent during the 16-month recession and saw unemployment peak at over 10 percent.

This long and deep recession finally ended following a combination of tax cuts and defense spending under Ronald Reagan. But did he cut taxes on Social Security...NO, he signed into law a tax on it. Kind of like robbing from the old and poor and giving to the rich.

There is little I can do about the actions and words of men 70 years ago. What we can do is learn from the past and not continue repeat the same. "They are all good people" is not the answer.

Good answer Eddie! On that we can agree.
