Re: Patsy Hill
When I arrived at the hospital the PT folks had her out of bead and walking not a big journey but a good start. I helped with her hair removing tangles. She still on a reduced 02 supply trough her nose. All of the tubes have been removed and now she has to get in and out of bed when Mother Natures calls, being on a water pill increases the frequency.
We hope this is just a loud wakeup call for us to live long and happy life! |

That is good news Larry, glad to hear it. I got my wake up call last fall, that's for sure, and it was so loud my ears still ring. Hopefully she'll be home soon, with a good recovery program to follow. |
Re: Patsy Hill
WOOHOO!!!!! Glad that you are looking at this as a wake up call. Some don't get that call. My prayer is that you guys get several more years of a happy and fun life together.
After initial diagnosis, my wife and I got 14 1/2 more years. |
Re: Patsy Hill
Great news, Larry, get well soon Patsy, we need you!!

Re: Patsy Hill
Patsy is out of Critical Care in a normal room in the hospital. The doctors have reduced her 02 supply by 50% and her body seems to be tolerating the reduction very well. The basketball game on Friday is almost out of reach for us. We are big fans of our granddaughters high school team. I guess we will have to watch the game on the radio, old school.

Re: Patsy Hill
First night home was the best, it was uneventful. We have been planning for this for years. In side our garage we have built an incline ramp to get into the house. The bathrooms are handicap accessible with appropriate commodes with grab bars including the shower with seat and grab bars. We even had a wheeled walker with brakes ready for Patsy when she got out of the car. The worst part of this bump in road is, for a while she will have to eat my cooking. She’s on the mend and gaining fast.
On the way home from the hospital we picked up her prescriptions the cost was almost like buying a drum of fuel. We plan on racing when she is able. Patsy is a big part of our program so when we go out there will no excuses. If we don’t win or have a good race it will be drivers error. Good Luck and be safe! |

Re: Patsy Hill
Glad everything is going well. I have read this thread a few times. Best thread on here this year. The outcome is awesome. Can't wait until we can read the road trip stories of you guys. Yes, prayers are continuing, you guys got this.
With Valentine's Day coming up - what a great story for Larry and Patsy. Love wins. |
Re: Patsy Hill
I almost feel like this should go in the “Build Section”. We had one of our favorite meals, Chinese take out. Good move on her part dodging the Bullet of my cooking. So we could have pizza tonight, TexMex Saturday, and finger food Super Bowl Sunday. All of it take out and she said “Works for me”.
She is making short trips without her walker regaining her strength and balance. We have pulled the plug on No Problem and other races until Patsy can easily access our motor home. |
Re: Patsy Hill
Get well Patsy.
Was looking for the live from the kitchen with Larry. You will be on a first name basis with the take out food folks. |
Re: Patsy Hill
My prayers go out to Patsy hoping for your complete recovery. Larry wrap your Loving arms around her that is the best prescription [ LOVE ]
May God Bless you BOTH With Love and Prayers Mark & 💕 |
Re: Patsy Hill
Although it's semi serious we still have fun laughing at out old people missed steps. Like "they say" laughter is the best medicine. We are having more fun everyday.

Get well Patsy.

Re: Patsy Hill
She has a big day planed for me doing laundry and UK basketball. As y'all can see she is recovering at a rapid rate.
We did get to watch out granddaughter play basketball on the High School team thanks to Chris getting our TV to accept a live stream of the game. We can't get the TV to live stream, but we are crazy enough to think we are going to race a EFI car this year. Talk about being a Dumbo! |
Re: Patsy Hill
Classic one Larry. Yes indeed getting older definitely requires a sense of humor. Suppose I could run an EFI car but then my 14 YO grandson would have to accompany to all the races.
Wishing Patsy to get better is proving as entertaining as your New Orleans train ride thread. Visiting family in Paducah and Mayfield next week if you need to borrow some smaller hands… |
Re: Patsy Hill
Patsy is doing very well. She is getting back to her regular routine. Today she will have a driving test with yours truly in the passenger seat calling balls and strikes. I think she will do fine. We went to lunch yesterday and it her first time outside since leaving the hospital. She is going to be OK.

Re: Patsy Hill
This is, without a doubt, the best thread on here.
Prayers have been answered. Who said they don't work. Here is proof they do. God Bless you guys and may you have many years of fun together. Can't wait for the first road trip that you guys take. May God be with you as you travel this year and beyond. |
Re: Patsy Hill
Looking forward to Patsy's first "Live from" of the year.

Re: Patsy Hill
Hi Guys! This is Patsy. I just want to thank all of you for the prayers, cards, calls, texts and everything else since my little adventure! I am doing lots better now! 40 years of eating anything I wanted and no exercise finally caught up with me! But with a change of medicine, diet and activity, hopefully we will be back out there having fun again soon. I really hated missing Belle Rose since they have some of the best food in the country!! But I guess now it is grilled or boiled shrimp instead of fried for me!
Since we missed out on getting into the Gators by 60 seconds, we aren't going to the other races down south. Larry is not great about sitting in a campground for the week in between so I guess we will be sitting at home until Division 3 gets started back in April! So we will be back "Live" then! Again, thanks for the love!! Patsy |
Re: Patsy Hill
Glad to hear you're doing well, boiled or grilled shrimp is pretty good too Patty ,been there and still doing it also from eating what I wanted to and from family heredity . God Bless you both .
