Thank you for that video Bobby. Like I said before Joe and Hal let their car talk for them. Nice guys that are very knowledgeable and been doing this for several years.

MY impression is they won't really tell you much about their car's performance and why should they?

I also noticed the Alf Weibe ladder bar suspension.:) Nothing better!

Joe just added 43 points and takes the stock lead. Very impressive, I’ve often heard his traction device referred to by another name but don’t want to be accused of spreading misinformation LOL

Congrats Joe and Hal!

implying that because your headlights do what they do, some type of cheating is going on.

With the proper parts & modifications an 8.5 10 bolt is plenty strong. We ran one in a high 9 sec. semi-heavy car for many...many years. It probably frees up a few hp also.

I believe that's an 8.2 rear , like what came in those cars.

Should be another exciting weekend here at the last divisional race. If my math is anything close.Jimmy Hildalgo will need to get to the semi finals to take back the points lead. I'm sure there will be over 64 cars in stock.
Jeff Dona still can win superstock too!

But, would he have gone faster without the sky shot?

Doesn't matter, win light came on.

Correct on what Cooter needs to do.

If he wins the delayed SS national final, Dona can't get around him.

Big Show, I don't know how much Joe had left, but based on the wheelstand
from hopping it up, and past Sorenson performances, I don't think -1.25
would be out of the question.

I believe he's running a 8.2 in his car. The housing is noticeably different on 8.2 vrs 8.5. I'd bet everything but the housing and cover is not 8.2 parts though.

Re: Joe Sorenson

I read all the pages to see if anybody had a clue about the headlight issue....Here's what happen to me (just as an example)
1981 f350 reg cab/8' box 2wd with extra leaves. Drove like a solid rearend until there was some weight on it.
Got home one night and went to back in the driveway, my dash lights came on....that's weird. After searching, found the rear right bulb (brake and running lights) was burned out, when the top filament burned off it fell and hung across the running light element causing the brake light power to power the running lights when I stepped on the brakes. Weird!! Never saw that before.....
A month goes by, SAME THING happened!! Figured out the socket moved 90* in the housing, rotated it so the two elements are side by side instead of one over the other, stopped the problem. Truck was rough and the rear right box mount was loose/rotted allowing the box to bounce and beat the lights out of it.

All that to say, don't think he's cheating, I'd say there is something else going on and they might not even be aware of it. Cheating??? Stop it!!

Tremendous season put together by these guys congratulations! Still a chance for my man Cooter and there's nobody better in my opinion. If I was a betting man and I actually am, in Vegas this weekend I would put some money on the Country puppy to overcome the lead with some good odds lol. Nevertheless both have had great seasons!

The index is .2 slower in Vegas. 12.05 but he was still on a great run.He was 6.799 at the 1/8th.

It SHOULD be a 350/300 because the 350/255 can't make E. Correct me if I'm wrong but was he not running a 350/255 at the Natl. Event? Now I know that both of those guys are capable of swapping a set of heads or a motor but I think that somebody in the Tech Dept. should at least wander over and pull off a valve cover and check some casting #s. We're not only talking about a World Champ on the line here but more importantly to many Racers we're talking about combo averages.

Just an FYI NHRA, if it's a 350/300, he's got the wrong hood on the car. ;-)
