The best effort I've seen promoting the Alky classes in D1 was years ago at Epping. Saturday "show", that also included, TS, TD, and wheelie trucks. The stands were full.

Astute observation great one.
The reason Saturday nights at Epping are such a success is the demographic. Auto racing is an important form of entertainment in that region plus more importantly there is not a wide ranging choice of entertainment. The club that owns the facility knows this does the marketing and reaps the reward.

and wrong again! Saturday nights at the LODRS at Epping are NOT a success every year. The Saturday I spoke of was a one time event, they never did it again all the years we competed there.

Thanks KA! You are my hero too. In fact you might be the first friend I ever made in stock when I parked next to you at the Charlotte National event in '23 when I was still spit balling building one in the first place. You couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating answering my flurry of questions with respect to class racing. You get "it" when it comes to class racing and drag racing more broadly. I appreciate you so much and I'll see you soon!

Here you go with your limited experience racing NHRA.
Every time I've been to Epping the Saturday Night show was packed not just the one time you are aware.
This happens at other venues also with similar demographic.

Here you go talking about what you think you know. I’ve been to Epping for the LODRS from 2018 through 2022 and it was not packed for the Saturday night show but the one year.

enough to have a Certified Fact Checker on this forum, but still you
dare to tread where no man has gone before. If you were to post your
address it would be wrong. Your house would be too small. We would find
out that the Fact Checker used to live in that neighborhood, but then he
got a job. A few years back when your car was absolutely flying, it would
have looked slow compared to the Fact Checker's if he built the same
combo too. He is smarter, richer, taller, better looking, faster, more intelligent
than anyone on this forum, and quite possibly the free world. I'm surprised
he stills has time for us mere mortals. I am quite sure he is busy working
with(not for, WITH) Elon getting that new Mars Lander ready for a launch
in the near future. And it will be the best, highest, quickest launch that the world has ever seen. All of his are.

LOL!! I took off a year to build that engine. During that time the fact checker responded to one of my posts here dissing me. He stated "his friends in Stock" told him my car was a turd.
Well the original engine won a few races finished in the top 10 in D1 was truly legal but not real competitive after the .3 reduction.

When getting into Stock Eliminator through a friendship with a fairly well know racer who offer me one of his cars. Was foot brake racing at the time guess he thought there was some potential there. Did win a race with the car during the 2 years I drove it. Some may know the car.....

During that time The great Ed told me personally that racing in Stock or any NHRA class above bracket racing was stupid he would never do it. His infamous Chevelle was mostly built to stock regulations other than his engine which was a;ways a bracket piece not stock legal. He did have the car set up with stock shifter, wipers and accessories though a really nice car that went to Europe for a good price.

When his son who is a great driver dad not so much just average like most of us saw his Junior dragster buddy have some success in super comp wanted to try it for which the great ed built him a car with which he had much success.

Ed did not build his bird he copied another local bracket racer buying a quality SS roller then installing a purchased not built himself bracket engine and glide. Which of course he widely advertised and was asked by the engine builder to calm down as he was getting negativity. So when he goes on and on his experience is through others work not his own.

Ed is not a contributor but a liability evidence here by trashing everyone on this message board running off all the quality content that many enjoyed for years but no longer.

Talk about what you know, not what you think you know, again YOU are wrong about Epping. I just confirmed what I stated with a friend who’s home track is Epping and races both TS and TD in the LODRS. He states the “show” time had been cut due to OT cost and the event being shortened to a 2 day event for the past several years.

Last, the owner of this board doesn’t think I “ruined this board”:p so your opinion is meaningless!

I've had people try to engage me. I don't respond, therefore everything
is short and to the point. I don't step on anybody's toes, I don't get in
anybody's way. If anybody ever needs to borrow something, needs a
hand, a shoulder to cry on, or an adult beverage and somebody to
just listen, I am there for them. Why?? Well, because I have this very
strange affliction: I happen to like people. It's a habit I'm trying to break,
just kidding, no I'm not. It would be a very lonely world without people,
and getting greeted by smiling faces. I'm sticking to my way, from what
I see here, the other way isn't very appealing.
