Much respect to the "old school" street runners, and class racers. I have learned a lot from you all. Thanks for your inspiration and infleuences, which is "all good"! Art, heard about Ray. My VERY late condolences, man.:( God bless him. You guys were a force to be reckoned with on or off track (street)!! BIG respect to you BOTH! I hope that I can be just as helpful as you all were to me in my earlier years. Take care and keep the ET's low (strip)/don't smoke the tires off the line (street).:D Later guys and gals! |

question) 2900 lbs is definitely feasible, considering what you started out with. Your power to weight factor was pretty good!! |

Here's a picture of Ray (and Kevin Schmidt) during happier times at the York US 30 National Open race in 1979.

Re: Connecting Highway
Not trying to change the subject but does anybody here remember a yellow '55 Chevy named "Family Affair?" NOT a street racer but a Jr. Stocker that ran out of the NYC area...possibly Brooklyn? with the usual stuff...Forgedtrues, Stahls, and Jarrell trans...early '70's time frame?
I was at that York '79 meet but all I remember is almost getting run over by Ed Racis in his Nova while he was making the call for Eliminations, LOL!!!! |
