These 4 racers got forced out of Stock Eliminator at INDY because 4 FS/XX cars got 2 bites of the apple to qualify and race at INDY..

Sad...

Great article, Kevin. It's really rewarding to know there are still a handful of great writers covering drag racing. If, in my fantasy world, there was an advanced class in drag racing journalism a lot of your stuff would be in the textbook.

I'm not a class racer but have been following it for 30+ years. I don't know the other 3 gentlemen but do know, from experience, that Gary Russell is one of the nicest men you will ever meet. I personally don't know how many more Indy races he plans to attend but if this was his last one that's a pretty crappy way to end it. Sad indeed.

I'll congratulate the Hill's now getting that thing to run so fast. Who knows what might happen! My street car is 3900+lbs. and probably just barely the factory 390hp. Keep turnin' those screws!
