Longtime supporter of Loose Rocker Promotions events, Marco Abruzzi has stepped up once again, this time posting contingency for both Stock and Super Stock in Sunday's main event:
Transmission $200 Win / $100 RU
Converter $200 Win / $100 RU
(Must be running product and decals)

Marco is a 3x Top Sportsman World Champion who has recently collected an astounding 4 Wallys in 8 days. He's not just for TS/TD applications though: ask Anthony Bertozzi, Michael Beard, Aaron Allison, Ronnie Traupman and more. Contact Abruzzi at 330-369-1707 to see how they can serve you.

Hi Michael, thanks for all your work in putting this event together. I'm expecting to have a really good time.

I may have missed the original discussion of class formats, but per this post:

"People should be able to come into the event without having to adjust weight to fit a particular class. The exception to that may be if a combination has a different HP factor between NHRA and IHRA, we will defer to the NHRA HP factor. Also, as mentioned earlier in this thread, Trucks and Fuel Injected cars will all run in their NHRA-designated classes (not separated as they are in IHRA)."

Fuel Injected cars will not have their own class? And cab some hp ratings be questions. Example: My combo in NHRA - 217hp and IHRA 210. The difference can be a substantial negative impact.

Once again, thanks for all your hard work to make this a great event.

Trucks and Fuel Injected cars were consolidated back into the regular Stock categories a number of years ago, and we will be using the NHRA classifications for those cars. For any combo that has a discrepancy between HP factors between the sanctioning bodies, we will use the published NHRA factors as of the date of the race. These are published online and easy for everyone to check. Yes, there are a large number of combos that are factored harder or are classified differently in NHRA (ie., Terry's Dart Sport I drive is 293 HP vs 285, and my Turismo goes from being a second under in EF/SA to .50 under in DF/S, with the 'old' indexes) Remember, we will be adding .30 to the existing NHRA indexes, which will put most of them back to where they were, and matching IHRA indexes in many cases as well. This should allow everyone ample opportunity to compete.

How about an All Star cast calling 'some' or all of the race.....Bob Frye, Brett Kepner, et al.?

Got Mike Bassin (NHRA Div. 1) on tap, and we need to find Unkefer a car to drive, that way he can race and do a little relief pitching on the mic as time allows. :)

The more I read about this event, the more I'm looking forward to it. I have the dates already on my 2014 calendar.

Michael, I saved a MML post of yours from almost 20 years ago when you participated in a bracket race where your dial was one-tenth quicker than your best time trial e.t. If you put as much effort into next year's event, it's going to be a huge success.

Re: Class Nationals event planning

Spent about three hours with track management, Michael Fornataro, and Chris Stilwell, out at National Trail today to discuss the event. They've been very helpful from their end, and they're looking forward to the event as much as we are. A couple of things we need to touch on...

1) I talked to the track to see if they wanted to conduct their own test n' tune on Thursday to accommodate early arrivals. With it being the first weekend in May, I suspect a lot of people may be interested in a little extra seat time. If you would be interested in testing on Thursday, let us know. Your feedback may help them make that decision.

2) Entries going 9.99 & quicker MUST have a valid NHRA competition license and the car must meet NHRA safety rules. So if you are an "IHRA-only" class car that falls into this category, please make plans to get it taken care of before the race. You can find information and forms regarding Transfers for current IHRA licenses here: http://www.nhraracer.com/content/gen...983&zoneid=175

We are honored to be on board Mike. It's great to see an event showcasing the best classes in NHRA, Stock and Super Stock. I'm sure this is going to be a great way to showcase the best in sportsman racing, looking forward to a great turnout.
