I got out old vinyl records that I got from my parents. I listened with pleasure to albums of 70s rock bands. There is a special mood, a special drive in this music. It's good that now you can buy everything. I have dreamed of a turntable for a long time and finally got the Crosley Belt-Drive turntable.

Friday night we finally got to get BACK OUT and go partying.. We have a natural amphitheater in Thornville Ohio.(Right close to National Trail Raceway) and Get The Led Out was there for a SOLD OUT SHOW. It's called Legion Valley. Place was packed. What a night. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and rock out. These guys are unbelievable. 3rd time I've seen them and I cant wait to go again in February to a small theater in Newark...They play an entirely different play list when they come back year to year, so you hear EVERYTHING Led Zepplin ever produced ...

Not a bad choice...

But the Little Ol' Band from Texas stayed together for over 50 years...
That has to be some kind of record...

Cream was together how long ? before they went their separate ways?
Cream was just a stepping stone... Granted they had some hall of fame worthy members...

Just sayin' ;)

Rock on from Texas...

Hmmm 50 years of innovation , experimentation...or just Texas Boogie ?
The Jimi Hendrix Experience lasted what, two years? Still left their mark ,though ;-)

Why compare? There’s room for all of them! So many to choose from, enjoy them all.

No doubt that this was the first recorded and issued version of this Jagger / Richards song...They gave GP and the FBB's the right to release it on their second album, while the Stones were wrangling over the Sticky Fingers sessions

Also one must remember that the Burrito Bros. were the opening act at the ill-fated Altamont festival ;-)

I'm not sure which one this song's about , but I passed through here a few years ago in northern New Mexico
Rose Dunn was romantically involved with George "Bittercreek" Newcomb, who ran with fellow outlaw Bill Doolin's Wild Bunch gang. In 1893, the gang was caught in a gunfight with US Marshals in Ingalls, Oklahoma. Newcomb survived, but was later killed by the Dunn Brothers, outlaws-turned-bounty hunters who also happened to be Rose's brothers. Rose was accused of tipping them off to the gang's movements, a claim she and her brothers denied.

Thanks, dude...I think ;-)

For the record, some of the groups I've played here have been dismissed by others who don't get them..
By now most figured out I'm not a zz fan...I don't get the style, the choreography thing, plus I've seen Gibbons interviews with the street rod folks, and the dude is just plain weird!

The only other group that chafes me as much is that Australian group where the guitar guy wears little school boy knickers :-(

Only one more possibility for a more annoying group..That would be Robin Williams, Jim Carrey, and Seinfeld...
And if that didn't whiz off a few, see my next post .;-)

Re: Musical Tastes

Back about a half century ago, before they invented that vile "Classic Rock" formula, the alternative, free form, underground stations would mix in comedy bits with the commercial free music. Firesign Theatre, Martin Mull come to mind...

Where are we going with this ?
Last night at the hot spring, I actuallly met a couple from El Monte..Of course that reminded me of this bit .
These guys very popular in the good ol' days }

Technically not a three piece band, but even if they were , Felix Pappalardi would know how to do it, seeing he produced Cream

While making our rounds on a Saturday night back a long time ago, we stopped in a place call Barnaby`s, on the University of Bridgeport campus. The place was empty, I mean 10 people including staff. We asked who the band was, bartender said Mountain. We said naw, but we stayed. Our table was 5 feet from Leslie West. No Felix at that time. No keyboard either. Corky, Leslie and the bass player.
