By chance any 68 Darts listed in that program?

Jimmy Moeller is the name under what looks like a Dart pictured here. #1 qualifier...Pro Eliminator.

this is part of the whole problem Charlie, my mother documented everything with pictures, my parents had ten of thousands of pictures from Lebanon valley , dover,Englishtown, island dragway etc. all the northeast tracks, after she passed away , things disappeared from the house including two giant safe seal Tupperware tubs full of these pictures, and I know we had pics of lightweights dart when we first got it. I have searched high and low, asked everyone of my dads friends if he had given them away to them and no one seems to know anything about the pictures.if I had them lightweight would already know whos car it was and all of this great info probably never would have been posted on here.

lightweight maybe it was when I spoke with you earlier this year , the guy ken wright that did not give up much info to you on the phone is a nephew of Charlie Castaldo. he was the one who told me to scoops real name , it was another italian last name. I will try and call Kenny to get this guys name . ken came to me because he has been looking for the car that two scoop had and the road led to me and my dad, ken is also old enough to tell some very intimate stories about uncle Charlie and his wife among other things. I do know that you to did not hit it off to well on the phone according to him so I will try again to get what I can out of him.

Re: Original hemi dart information

Daryl,

I'm still digging.

Talked to my mother, and she said one her best friends married one of the 'Lieto' boys.

They were from Mt. Kisco, but moved to the next town North, to Bedford Hills.

There were several 'Lieto' boys that my mother went to school with in Mt. Kisco.

It could have been one of the Lieto brothers sons that raced the Dart.

He worked at the Service Station in Mt. Kisco, next to the Mt. Kisco Movie Theatre.
Probably from 1976 thru 1980.

Paul

Thanks JIMI for anything and everything you can and are doing to help Daryl.
You are correct that this turned into one if not THE leading LO23 Dart forum.
Also, this topic began the Nostalgia Forum on Class Racer.
A lot of good things have happened because of "Daryl's Dart Deliemma".
The good news is that WHEN his "quest for truth" is solved this topic has taken on so many faces it will continue.

Isn't this fun?

Paul,
I can't believe you are "this close" to possibly bringing the two ends together. With you and jimmi and the new/old info you both have brought to the forum, I just feel this is coming to a CORRECT end for Daryl.

Paul

Lost in translation. "Two Scoop Lido" as previously thought to be a nickname, translated to an actual last name "Lieto".... "Two Scoop Lieto". And one of them actually worked at the same gas station where the black Hemi Dart was seen at. Well done Sherlock!!!!!This is the most progress I've had in more than a decade.
Your on a roll. Keep throwing those dice my friend.

Jimi

Thankyou for hanging in there with me. I appreciate the effort your putting into this. Your right, it would be alot easier if those pictures would of been available, but, on a side note, alot of other good things have happened due to this thread. I'm not going to give up this quest, but it's sure been a long time coming.
Keep me informed on Ken Wrights info

To all involved
Thankyou for keeping this thread alive & well. Couldn't have done this without your inputs.

Daryl,

Might you be able to refresh our memories about the black Dart being spotted at a gas station that one of the Lietos worked at?

Thanks

Re: Original hemi dart information

The Best Bet,

Is to try and get Track Results from Lebanon Valley Dragstrip from 1977.

That is the primary track that guys from Northern Westchester
went to in 1976 and later,

Dover Drag Strip had closed in May 1976.
