Lurkers are welcome here too. Don't need to own one of these original cars to participate. All stories & pictures of the real cars are a great addition. Yes I saw that date on the picture also, thanx

Moose,
I have most of the complete history on the Carlton Cuda - maybe missing an owner in the middle - car still has Carlton paperwork. I have a number of lists that have been compiled over the years, NHOA and others and have used them to peice histories together. We know the history of Ed's Dart back to about 1970-1 - The people who bought it can't seem to remember exactly who they bought it from - have spoken to them many times. The GO Hummer car was for sale around this time incidentally.

Daryl,
I keep forgetting about the "Cookie Duster" Dart - funny that this cars paint is almost identical to Flynn's (except for the silver on the bottom). There was a Duster that was also called "Cookie Duster" that I saw in an old ND ad from the 80's - it was in MN though.

Some guys pulled of the fiberglass deck lid, and replaced it with a

great picture!!!!!! i still have all of the cars, i have been trying to sell them and all of the spare parts, i have not driven the 65 since 2005 and the wagon since 2007, heck the last time i drove the 64 aluminum car was 2001, b bodies take up quite a bit of shop space .

while we are on the subject of sanair, around 1990-91 my dad popped a hemi in the 65(uncle georges engine), they removed the engine from the car to give it to ray barton to fix since it was already in canada, it was later in the day and don garlits(don was using uncle george's motor home getting prepared for diamiond p instead of their trailers) was there helping my dad and uncle george remove the engine from the car, there was quite the audience watching big work on a s/s car , plenty of pictures were taken but we never got any , you would not happen to of taken any? or know anyone who has pictures?

January 23 thru 26, 1969
At BeeLine Dragway, Phoenix, Arizona
1969 AHRA Winternationals

In her 'best showing' with the 68' SS/BA Hemi Dart.

Shirley made it to the Semi-Finals in the SS/E Heads-Up/Non-Handicap Eliminator.
Losing to Ed Terry, in a factory-prepped 1969 Ford Mustang w/427 SOHC

http://www.arizonaracinghistory.com/Richards_B_031.jpg

Shirley ran one more Race-Event for Chrysler Performance.
The next week (February 2 and 3, 1969) at the NHRA Winternationals in
Pomona, California.

After that, she left the Hemi Dodge Dart, and campaigned for American Motors.

Shirley was not that successful campaigning the Dart at S/S events.
Her only 1968 S/S Eliminator win with the Dart , was at the Great Lakes Dragaway at
Union Grove, Wisconsin,,,,,in June 1968,,,,,one-week before the Springnationals.

All factory LO cars came with a steel trunk lid, no fiberglass here Paul. Landy installed the panel for a little more eye appeal ( might of had a little lead hid in there too???)

One of the best paints even by todays standards. No "wallpaper" used back then.

I fiqured it was after Tim & Bob sold it, as there were a couple 71 cars shown in the video.
Kinda surprised they left all the Wild Fire paint & names on it tho.
