Okay Hemiparts, I looked back through, "a lot of years" collection and here is the "Super Rooster." I knew this car up close and personal. The car owned and raced by Ebern Watson, Jr. of Raleigh was driven also by Bobby Warren. I believe the last race he drove it was at Bowling Green. Bobby Warren and Haywood Register of Clinton, North Carolina built and raced some of the top stock and Superstock cars in the country. If you have access to copies of the National Dragster from the late '60"s and early '70"s look in the back at the "National Records" section and see how many records that team held at one time. I can not remember the year or exactly how many, but I remember at one time the team of Bobby Warren and Haywood register held almost every record from maybe it was E/S to N/S and I forget how many in Super Stock
In those days you raced off of the "National Record" for that day in your particular class. On Tuesday morning when you got your copy of the news paper you looked in the back to see what record you had to run off of at any race you went to for that week. If it was lowered the next week-end you might get to run on that number for a couple of weeks. |

Here is dad's (Curtis Smith) 1967 "Hot Stuff" Camaro. This is the car that he won the 1996 IHRA Stock World Championship with.
Also, Here is Grandpa's (Earl Smith) 1969 "Shakedown" Camaro. Dad won the 1984 NHRA Summernationals with this car. We still have both, and still race both. |
