Re: "Live" from the Western Swing
Glad to see that you two were able to avoid the "North 40", and I hope you enjoyed the "Block Party" in Golden as well...I wish I was back there after being here in metro Phx. for 3yrs. My budget was much better there even though the trips to races like you two have been to were longer. Have a great time, and I'll be rooting for you two from the "valley of the sun"!

Larry you all take your time getting back. The weather here is miserable. Heat indexes the next two days around 105-108.

Re: "Live" from the Western Swing
check out the Morrison Inn, great food and killer margaritas. They are just around the corner
out of the track to the right 1/2 mile approx, within golf cart range. |
Re: "Live" from the Western Swing
Morrison Inn - Killer margaritas, but very average to below average Mexican food....

Re: "Live" from the Western Swing
Well, it is another beautiful day here at the Mopar Mile-High Nationals. Super street starts out at noon, then stock. Weather calls for 93 this afternoon, with no rain til around 9, but it has been showering every afternoon. We are supposed to get 2 runs, then start class. I just hope the car gets down the track. It doesn't sound too spiffy with all the jet changes!
Well, I am going out to get some pics before we run. More later. |
Re: "Live" from the Western Swing
Larry, altitude sickness can stike at high elevations such as where you are, due to less oxygen in the air. Classic symptoms might not be immediately apparent, symptoms are what you were experiencing such as throbbing headache, fatique, nausea, shortness of breathe and finally dizziness. Best remedy is find a quiet spot to rest, sit down, drink plenty of water and elevate your legs. Alway's carry plenty of water with you in the car and carry twice as much as you think you will need, sip the water at regular intervals. When you're not use to altitude shifts, your heart can suffer the most as we age. Be careful and good luck. Claude

Re: "Live" from the Western Swing
We have had 2 runs and will run class shortly. First run DA was 9916, 2nd run our Nova computer kept giving an error. Evidently it doesn't work above 10000.
Right now Hagberg was quickest at 10.86, so I think they have agreed that the quickest would get the bye. So Larry has to run Ronnie West 1st round. Larry has had a .013 and a.010 light, so maybe he can get them on the light. It is hot, 93. Keith made 1 pass in the "Droozemobile" but it didn't look too good. More later |
