you guys do know that Hakim & Donoto is gone from Mopar now and rumors have it that those $200K SS'ers will be running for penny's and trophys again only.
Like the old saying goes, "How do you like me now" is what they might be saying?

Something tells me that $$$ wasn't the sole concern for those guys that built the $200k SS'ers. Spending $200k+ to get a car on the starting line to race for $10k is hardly turning a profit. LOL

Can't say I'd be too happy if the deal goes through. I had planned on buying a Dodge truck after passing the bar next year. Not so sure I'd be too big on "brand loyalty" if Dodge is owned by the company I swore I'd never buy or drive anything from!

I just had a funny thought. Will Chuck have to build motors that will last for 3 time shots and potentially 7 rounds now?

Ed F.

Hope they still pay me for class and or W/RU?

I'm looking forward to the new "Corporate Head" for my six pac.
If history is a precedent, the engine will lose five horsepower just prior to the approval of the of the aluminum 401 head. This new head will look just like the Chevy head and bolt up to the 440 block. Intakes will be slow in coming so we get to use a 1050 Holley
instead of the 1350 cfm we now have. Intakes will be made of carbonfiber.

Funny stuff Larry!

This sounds more like a merger than a purchase. Neither one has any dough. Don't know what Ford will do if it has to compete against a GenPar motor car company.

The new Camaro is slated to be introduced at SEMA in three weeks. Maybe next year they will introduce the new Chalmaro.

I guess they wil have to change the name of Pro Stock to Pro GM, since the lone Ford is not competitive (which sux, cause I am a Ford guy)

This will be good for Ford guys since we'd be the only ones not having to share our brand loyalty with the former enemy. I'd imagine they'd have to allow Camaros (no"e") and GTO's at the big Mopar shows to go along with the AMC's they inherited decades ago. Maybe they'll give out the Bloomington Gold award to Corvettes at the Mopar Nats?

I guess all the Mopar guys will be able to run Super Chevy now too.

I for one will nor be swithing, I am quite happy with my Blue Oval. Been racing and driving nothing but Fords for so long I dont know if I could even put together a small block Chevy anymore.

Re: GM = General Mopar?

Word has it that gm is burning through the cash and has about 1 year left of reserves. Mopar is hidden since they went private. Ford has cash for approx two years but started getting lower % loans long before the others and is in much better shape financially. The other thing with ford is that they have reduced the size of the company and completely changed the cars.

In other words, fresh product and cash/loans available is much better than dwindling cash and a refusal to downsize or even recognize the problem.

GM and mopar merging will benefit ford because if either gm or mopar fold then the tier2 companies that make parts for all three might fold which would hurt ford. If they merge, lines stay open, small parts suppliers stay open and ford has one less competitor.(more market share)

I hope the domestic's get it together and kick the imports asses but it has to start with the buyers too.

Remember, support domestic's, the job you could be saving, just might be your own!
