I feel a bit inadequete, I think I am the only small block left at 9.90 @ 142.

But I have a new tactic to throw you guys off at the finish line .......................watch for the finger!!!! :D

......and no that doesn't mean your #1

My good bud Kenny has a SB vega, only runs about 141-143...and he does good...there are some hitters that know how to play the slow mph game..

I think you can do some damage with a lower mph car...even my lowly 150 got me a top 10 in SG in 2005..and I have a Wally in SG...and a few r/ups..I've raced more than my share of high mph cars and won...

But I do believe that racing from behind or beside is easier in alot of cases..

I just cant spend the 20K I would need to go 165...

And I might have hit the brakes more than once giving the fast guy the stripe...

Dave: at least you have good neck muscels from turning your head.
And I will have to do it in 09 S/C 1219 8.90 168 with doors!

Eddie,
Just cut the top off your Olds ( like a certain Maryland S/G racer you know ) Maybe no MPH gain but a lot better view!!

And a couple of best engineered....awards...(of course until Asta brought his car out)

Who cares how fast you go.....all the guys have beaten faster cars....certainly ours has been beat up on......we were just fortunate enough to get help on a couple of motors......and the ride is a little more fun at the faster speeds....

and Eddie....that dragster motor in your car would make that thing run pretty good...I need to stop looking at it so it doesn't end up in the vette....

it took a couple of years to get the current combo right....another 100 would really screw it up....

To me its not worth it to spend an extra 10 or 12k to pick up MAYBE 7 to 10 mph. I think we might try to run alchohol to try to get to about 160 but im not sure if the tank in the back would work im just not sure it the belt drive pump could keep up with it. Any suggestions??????

We had no issue with the belt drive pump in our dragster when we were running alcohol. Actually think we might be making more hp with gas on our engine though, with such a big CI. I run 9.90 @ 161-162, and I think I was the fast car in every round I went last year, except maybe one. Was to the red Corvette with the Diamond Engine motor in it. He ran around 170mph. Went flying past me around 1000' at the Indy divisional last year in 1st round. He went something like 9.70, while I hammered the brakes to slow down to a 9.95. Then again, I couldn't make it out of the second round at all last year, no matter how close to 9.90 the car was, somebody else was a hair better.
