Re: Broken down towing a race car???
I had the same problem. Towing my 24ft enclosed with a 1 ton dually and the converter blew on it. Called CAA (I was up in Canada) using my AAA RV Plus and didn't even think to ask about the trailer. The tow truck showed up and he asked me about towing the trailer. His GPS came up with 99 miles door to door and he was gone, no charge.

Re: Broken down towing a race car???
Joe -- I haven't given up on AAA just yet as many racers can and have had their rigs including trailers towed home -- maybe I'll just tell them I'm from Pennsylvania .....................And forget about that '69 Camaro deal with the tow truck drivers -- even Joe Sorensen haters like those old Camaros ! !

Re: Broken down towing a race car???
AAA North Jersey club does not offer RV Plus, Premier, or RV Premier. Called and asked. Central or South Jersey clubs may.
AAA Plus tows the truck for free. Trailer towing is offered at owner expense. Cecil mentioned Allstate. Worth looking in to. |
Re: Broken down towing a race car???
Went back and read the AAA RV Premier policy again. It says "Pontiac Only" and they prefer GTO's. :D :D :D

Re: Broken down towing a race car???
I had the same thing happen to me. I have General Motors protection plan and they paid for towing of race car trailer behind flatbed tow truck.

Re: Broken down towing a race car???
I needed road side assistance twice in 1 week...I had service from Sears (Allstate) they failed to provide both times... I had 2 find my own help .....I was pissed considering I had paid them for about 10 years without a claim.
I am now with Good Sams Club.. My wife needed service & they were Johnny on the spot..... No complaints.... |

Re: Broken down towing a race car???
Rich Oakes has an even better service! It's called the Jim Pursglove service. Rich was heading to the US Class Nationals in Byron, IL and had the crankshaft snap in his duallie near Morgantown, PA. Rich calls Jim. Soon a rollback is there for the duallie and Pursglove shows up with his duallie and let's Rich take it out to Byron. The Pursglove duallie made a SMOOTH trip to Byron and back!!!
Now THAT's SERVICE!! Don't ask me how Jimmy got back, I don't remember that part. |
