I'm pretty sure more than the 128 will be there I just hope its not as tuff as last year to get in.

ISN? please tell me more. Jim you are confused like back in the day when you though it was legal to run NOS on your SS car and got busted. That fun fact was given to me today by a few of your div2 friends/racers that were there when all this went down many years ago. I find if funny that you pick on me for getting bounced for 8 grams on a rod and piston when you yourself did something much worse then I ever could do. Don't throw stones if you live in a glass house jimmy.

Charlie/Stew. Lets have a pool on how many cars show up and have the cut off date to get in around the 10th of August. $20.00 to get in. I say 140 cars will enter. This will be the lowest car count in many years. Closest to the right number without going over wins. Lets talk about it this weekend.

Looking back at the past National events this year, it's been pretty regional as far as the cars entering the races. If you look at Englishtown, there used to be alot of other division cars there and this year you could count them on your hands. I think that there might be as little as 90 cars there at Indy. 2 years ago I was sweating getting in with 3 grade points, now I think that if you have 0 grade points you are getting in.

I'm with 442 OLDS,
Bring back the betting on what the bump will be. While I'm not yet racing, I follow Indy from beginning to end as far as Class Racing goes.

If Top Sportsman and Top Dragster compete at the 2010 U.S.Nationals,then I would think that the 128 car field would possibly be cut to 64.This might be the last year of the 128 car field.
As a tiebreaker in the pool.... How far under will the # 64 car be?

Now THAT would really suck if NHRA cut the stock and or S/S fields or dropped them all together. If they bring in the high dollar ($100,000 +) "BRACKET" cars then I would look for the S/C and S/G fields to be dropped or cut instead. The spectators dont like to see throttle stop cars anyway and NHRA knows this. Its all about the show and spectator interest. Im sure the S/G and S/C guys dont want to hear this over and over but look at the big picture. But then on second thought they wouldnt have tear downs (less tech officials) for the class cars and Im sure NHRA is tired of all the bitching and paper work involved in keeping up with HP factors and engine specs. This is not intended to put down anyones choice of race car. Just my 1/2 cent in thinking.

Charlie, are you bi-polar? If so that would explain your posts. If not, you need to get off the pipe! Let me explain what a "fact" is. A fact is something that can be substantiated. Example: Fact, Charlie Downing was tossed at Indy. Rumor: Charlie has been known to run a 350 instead of the claimed 305 in his race car. The above fact can be substantiated with a phone call to the proper NHRA officials. The above rumor can not. Fact: Jim Wahl has NEVER been tossed for nor found to be running NOS in any of his race cars. This is a fact because it can be substantiated by calling the proper NHRA officials, (626-914-4761) therefore it is relegated to the rumor category. Now take your medication as directed,and stop abusing people for no reason. Jim
