Re: Tough Night
Guys. Your response has been overwhelming. It brings tears to my eyes and joy to my heart to be a part of such a tremendous elite group of fellow racers. I cannot thank you enough for all of your support. As far as a list of parts we are basically starting over from scratch. I went today and purchased another tool set from Sears along with a new box. I wanted to show the kids that although we have to start over it is not the end of the world. We did find out that on Sunday around 6pm a white Chevy Dually with a white enclosed trailer was at the shop. The shop is in an industrial are and the guy that spotted the truck just thought it was one of us getting the car and parts. I am thankful they did not approach these guys because we don't know what would have happened. I am also grateful that none of the kids had went by during this time and walked in on them. A life is more important than anything else. I talked to a few of the kids today and we are having a meeting this week to discuss a new project. I told them not to worry because this one would be better than the last and we still have a shot at finishing it this season.

Floyd:
How close are you to Myrtle Beach? There were so many classic cars in South Carolina over the week-end. I will spread the word around the North Carolina area. A lot of cars and collectors from this area were down there this past week-end and a dually pulling and enclosed trailer could have been anyone of hundreds on the interstate Sunday. Were the two 305 blocks stock bore? What other chevy engine parts did you lose and need to get started back? No young people wanting to get in this sport need to have their stuff stolen by some low lifes. |

Me and the old man are good for $100 each, so that 600 remaining , and 200 (or 300 of that ?) has been commited to here.... How to get it down from Ohio to Florida, (I did say the car has no title but it IS Kosher , his shop is full of cars people owe him money on for the last 20 years lol...youd have to know him....nothing EVERY leaves there) Not the greatest pics but, well, I was taking pictures of other "junk" around his shop for him about 3 days ago. And snapped these. Most of the "new stuff" on it would be useless for a stocker I think, Springs, Rear end backing plates, etc. Brake stuff. the like. I didnt get under it, but its solid, he said rust free and it looks it got some surface on it around the rear wheelwells but its just that. Actually its been sitting since about 95 so thats, 15 years...... But its located in Akron Ohio, I just have no time to haul it to Fla right now ? http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2704/...3c09b64386.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4006/...189ff45e30.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4001/...c010a4ea7c.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4071/...5bfe55cbf5.jpg |

The car actually looks better than what we originally started with as it was a theft recovery. As far as getting it here not sure on that either. I am not allowed to take my company truck that far but I will talk to a few friends tomorrow. Thank you so much. |

Re: Tough Night
Floyd,
If you decide to go with Chris car. I still have the old 92 Camaro. I'm going to strip the drivetrain, anyway. The crankshaft from the motor in the car is designated to another project. It is a 305 motor. If you could use the block, heads or rods. I'd be glad to donate them. You'll have to remove the pistons, LOL! I'd need to make arrangements to get them over to Chris, they could go with the car. The drivetrain is still in the car, so, I would also need a timeframe to get them out and clean them up a little. I know it's not much, the best I can offer at this time. |
