Re: Live from Atco, NJ - NHRA Lucas Oil DRS
Ed, he normally runs C/S with it. It's a very nice, blue, post '66 Chevy II, 327/350, de-rated to 300. I forget the code for it (L-79?).

Cool I didn't think you could get a 66 in to B. Ed

I think it's a natural D car, maybe the sheet is a misprint.

Jimmy, Don is running one of the original CJ's it is his 2008. He was not able to back up the 9.41 for the AA/S record.
Here is a shot of Brian Oakes Blue '69 Camaro setting the record in SS/CA. 8.94@147. Looks like Denny Stewart will be busy in tear-down. By the way Denny is one smart tuner, although he said he would never help me. Brian told him I was no good just because I run a Ford, go figure. Jack will not be updating for a while today. he develop an oil leak and he has to pull the trans to fix it. The first qualifying pass was the best shot of the day if you got a hold of the track. The second qualifying was about 2 to 3 slower, but the track was a little slick at times. A few of the new CJ's had a tough time hooking up along with a few others. Overall its been a good day, the only problem is and its a minor one, there is so much pollen in the air that they have to clean the track after every category. It looks like Joe Garbarine set the record in his '05 Cavalier GT/GA, but I don't have the numbers, sorry everyone, I will be back later to confirm and find out if anyone else set records. Super Stock just finished there final run for the day, their numbers were also slower then this morning. |

Jack/Ken,
Thanks for the updates and pictures. My boss sent me to Western New York instead of Fort Dix this week, so no Atco for me :(. Still early, I guess! Lew |

Re: Live from Atco, NJ - NHRA Lucas Oil DRS
So let me get this straight....Oakes went 147MPH and so did the other guy ;) with the Paper/bogus stocker that NHRA let into the game....
The difference in E.T. was 8.94 to 9.41? So, can the other "guy" in the paper/bogus stocker really go 8.94? That's insane! Sorry other guy, no pun intended but, great choice for a combination! I sure wish I could by one on the show room floor. If I had the money....;) |

Back to racing -- Everyone waited around tonight for the clean-ups but by the time we finally got to run the air had gone away because of the dew coming in -- most lost 3 to 4 hundreths with the hook being only so-so . Tomorrow is to be another post card perfect day which will start off at 9:15 sharp . After everyone has one Q-shot we'll go right into eliminations.........till then ...... |
