I did have a chance to see what the audio problem was. With all the has happen I am sure its not as important.

Unfortunately there was a fatality here, and the track has been down for some time. Racing will start at 4:00 starting with Motorcycle.

Super Gas and Comp are done for the day. Super Stock and Super Comp are schedule to run later, but that could change.

Its tough when you loose someone at the track, its very quite, somber like.

I will post more details later. I think we would all agree that the family comes first and I would not want to post rumors or speculate on such a tragedy.

As I typed this NHRA has released the name of the driver. Neal Parker age 58 died of injuries when his Alcohol Funny car did not stop and hit the retaining devices. Condolences to his family.

I think it's even worse when you know the person well. I grew up watching Neal race at Atco raceway as a little kid. He always had some of the coolest cars. Before he went TA/FC racing he used to have a 48 Blown Fiat that he used to do Exhibition runs and sometimes bracket race at Atco. When IHRA came out with Top Dragster Parker ran that and was actually the 1st Top Dragster to run in the 5 second range. He always drove on the edge with that car and actually had a few nasty accidents with it. I was actually just talking to him and the crew at Maple Grove cause Neal is from Millville and we're from the next town over Vineland. He was talking about how they just upgraded to the carbon fiber blower and were going to try to run with the big boys in TA/FC this year. One thing about Neal was he always has a stinky cigar either lit up or just in his mouth. Sucks that this had to happen and at E-Town of all places, which already has a bad reputation after Scott died and they went and improved the end with sand and catch nets to have this never happen again.

I remember them days with Neal at Atco.... I have some great memories of racing Atco with them and then heading to Cecil for the next days race... He and my dad were good friends, and I had the pleasure of getting to know him when I was up there racing... I saw him at afew IHRA races after we moved... He was a great guy and will be missed by many...

RIP... my friend...

Don,

Sorry I did not get back to you sooner, internet access today is very slow.

No sportsman ran between the pros, we are all done, except for the pro's. They are ready to run the second round pro session after pro mod, which is running now.

Good morning everyone, its mostly cloudy 6:45 in the am. Why I am up so early I do not know. But since I'm up, I might as well give a report and post some more pictures.

First out today will be Super Gas and Super Comp. All the other sportsman will not run until late in the day. When I get a detailed schedule I will post it.
