I would also say Perkins should make the show.

Does anybody hold anything back at Indy??? I don't think so!

Jeff, I believe that there are 30 SS/AH; Harold Leiter Jr., car #342, is listed in SS/AA with a '68 Hemi Barracuda. The rulebook states "Class SS/AH restricted to 1968 Plymouth Barracuda and 1968 Dodge Dart with Hemi engine (automatic and/or manual). These vehicles restricted to this class only." I am assuming that the last sentence means that he can't move down to SS/AA. If his car info is correct, he should be listed in SS/AH.

I f conditions are the same this year as last ,only 4 hemi cars would have qualified last year, because our index was hit by 15 hundreds.1.021last year 72.1 this year would mean,Hemi cars would have to go 8.579 just to qualify this year.

I have heard a couple of things in regards to qualifying at Indy. I am hoping one or more of you could answer this question. Do they still put in all class winners into the show or is a straight qualifying under the index?

Thanks for your help!

It's the 128 quickest cars under the Index, unfortunately. It used to be Class Winners + Low ET qualifiers to make the 128 car field. For whatever reason, NHRA changed this in 2008. Winning Class used to mean something. Not anymore. Now, the money is almost non-existant for winning Class, and you may not even qualify.

There will be a flock of SS/JA cars make it.

Is there a cutoff for entries? I counted 186 already.

It's strictly qualifying, class win dosen't mean anything anymore.
But when you look at the past ET's remember They get a shot first thing in the morning when the air is usually much better.
With your tough index you will need your A game
