Because they're factored somewhere close to honest, and even worse, the Camaro weighs close to two tons. The Corvette is almost exclusively Super Stock only (cut a car you'll pay $50K+ for to start with to pieces?), and the Camaro cannot hope to compete in Stock, besides being too heavy to to be attractive for Super Stock. Not to mention a base Camaro starts around $25K, and a body in white that needs $5K worth of parts from GM before you can start making a race car sells for $10K+.

Thought that had been answered here a couple of times already. Honest hp ratings and weight. They won't be competitive in the classes they fit. Pretty simple.
