I'm still envious of you thought Michael, because you're qualified for the World Championship race this fall, and I only needed to win 3rnds to join you, and I couldn't do that.... :( Where's your next race going to be? Go get 'em there!!! :) |

Michael......could it have been the wind???

Re: LIVE from MIR Pro-Am
There was very little wind, not even measureable most of the time, but you never know when it decides to do something for a split second. Also wondering about some other possibilities, something my dad brought up many years ago. Is it possible for a slow car to ride the 'bow wave' of a faster car chasing them? Doubt a car punches that big of a hole in the air. Split times were showing a slowing trend up to 1000', then the car picked up in the back half. The second day was mostly 60'. Planted the slick in the beams, so I'm late and fast. Happens every once in a while. Quite surprised me when I got my time slip, as I had trouble doing a burnout. (MIR seemingly has a BYOW policy)  Did have three runs in a row to the 1/8th within .007 prior to that.

Re: LIVE from MIR Pro-Am
Maybe if Kyle Busch is bumpdrafting.
It's just MIR. It does that. What do you tell me all the time about over analyzing.LOL Now cut the puter off and go get in line at ZMAX Chip |
Re: LIVE from MIR Pro-Am
what is a byow policy?
They also probably prepped the track differently for when the pro mods ran which we always seemed to run right after. |

Had to ask several times for water in the burnout box. Would roll through and get the tire wet all the way around, back up, leave a coulpe feet in front of me, bring it up to 2800 in 1st gear and mat it, and it barely got to 5500 rpm, never even got to pull 2nd. I always see several instances of people having problems doing a burnout at MIR. I almost wonder if there's something different in the concrete there, because even Pageland Dragway only has 2-3ft of water tops, and I never have a problem doing a burnout there (or anywhere else). Are they spraying traction compound all the way back to and including the box? Chip - prolly gonna be Thursday morning before I can get out of here. Schedule's killing me. Good luck at Piedmont this weekend. |
