For the Bandimere's sake I hope you're right Lane, but with only 29 Stockers, and 16 Super Stockers (with less than 36hrs left for the entry deadline), I'm not so sure about that (especially your Super Stock guess)? I'm getting more amused by the hour given the total field is only 60.4 percent of quota as of 1:16am pst Sunday morning...hopefully this will mean that no one will have to park in that dreaded North 40!

Only Funny Car, Pro Stock Motorcycle, and Super Comp are even close to their quotas, which is really amusing...I wonder why that is...could it be due to the current fuel prices, and that wonderfully enhanced entry fee? I'm sure they both helped. Location? Ditto. North 40? Wouldn't be surprised in the least! Oh and last but not the least, the enhanced altitude correction factor, and it's effect on Super Stock and Stock indexes (following NHRA's reduction last year of our indexes...talk about pouring salt over a wound!!!)? Absolutely!

I know now another reason I'm glad I moved from there...at least at sea level I still can be competitive...that said I can understand why you and Randy aren't racing in it Hawk, but I'm quite surprised that Tony Hernandez (amongst others) aren't in the field...but we still have 35hrs to go, so who knows???

Randy will be there for sure. There`s several notables not there yet. I myself ordered a new cam a little too late to be ready.

Hawk's guess is not looking promising...even more amazed they didn't bump up the Super Comp quota to pull in some $$$. Worse part is we need a live reporter...Ken may have to pay a signing bonus for somebody to step up to the plate! Wonder how long since nobody east of the Mississippi did the Western swing???

Greg, wondering how long since nobody did it...I recall very well Larry and Patsy's trip...I met Patsy for the first time at Seattle even though I was brought up 20 miles from their place. Not a single Division 1,2,3,4 racer entered as yet for any of the Swing. I'm sure Toby will 'carry the mail' for Sonoma and Seattle but don't see anybody else on the entry list for Denver who's previously reported live...

Personally, I think the car counts have more to do with the economy in general (and pessimistic view specifically) than it is about "enhancements". Also, I realize you can pretty much wait for Monday morning to enter a National anymore don't think people are going to leave their home in the East before they even enter the race...

Hi James, oh yeah I'm sure Indy will fill up as usual, but thanks to NHRA's enhancements, there's one car they won't see there possibly ever...mine (especially since at -.035 under the enhanced index, I'd have been the 173rd qualifier out of 174 cars entered...thus not worth the time/money/travel to even try doing it)! However, since we're talking about Denver's big race, that's what I'm looking forward to being online for (within the next 24hrs.), to see if any more racers enter (besides Randy Hyman), and how many others will increase that total field size percentage from what it was last night?

Now as for the PT Cruiser, I'm not sure why NHRA even let that vehicle race in DF/S...it had a turbo charged engine, and I checked the classification guide for that year and model of vehicle (with it's engine options), and the turbo charged engine didn't have the high enough weight to hp factor to allow it to supposedly run in DF/S...only the non-turboed engine was factored for DF/S...so NHRA dropped the ball on that one, and whoever was the No. 2 qualifier got robbed, because they may have been No. 1 if those guys would've checked their posted info, realized that vehicle didn't belong in that class with that engine set-up, and put it where it belonged (in either AF/S, or BF/S).

I'll be rooting for Randy, and I'm glad he'll be entered, and I hope there'll be the "several notables" as you say, but as of now (1:49pm), it appears that Stock went down from 29 to 28, and Super Stock increased by one from 16-17. More importantly, the total field size percentage only increased .4% to 60.8% of their quota. Thus the clock is ticking, and the 24hr glass is nearly drained an hour, so these next 23 will definitely be interesting???

I wish you could attend the race, because with that new paint job you got, your car would be one of the coolest ones out there! :) I wish you well with that new cam...I hope I'll be able to change mine in the forseeable future too? Take care Hawk!
