There was guy a couple of years older than me who lived up the street bought a 67 with a 283 powerglide. Bone stock 2 barrel, plain jane, never been touched car. Pulled the 283 and glide, put a 427 and 400 turbo out of a county cop car. by the time he got rid of the car must have had 20 differant motors in it. Export you say?

Of the very few 1967 283/195HP 2-Barrel Camaro's,

if raced in 1967,,,,
classed in H/Stock

1968, M/Stock
versus all those 57' Chevy Model #210's with the 283/220HP engine.

Not sure why anyone would want a 283/195HP 2-Barrel, when the
#LF-7; 327/210HP 2-Barrel was the same cost in the 1967 Camaro.

Maybe it was a Mid-West car pricing/budgeting experiment.

Thing now is 283 is rated @ 170 hp would be a Q add weight to R the 327 would have to run N....

I had one just like that. A Gold one. I later added a 4.56 gear and a 3927140 Trans Am camshaft and Hooker headers. Street driven.

How about a little more info on Raven Rock and Riverside drag strips? Quarter or 1/8-mile and sanctioned or not? When were they open and when closed? Sounds like Raven Rock might have been Gordon "Collectin" Collett's home track.....

Wasn't the 302 in the Z/28 a 4 bolt main block?

Lew

I think in 67 and 68 the 302 had 2 bolt main caps...the 4 bolt main blocks showed up in 'DZ' 302 engines in 1969, if memory serves correct.
