Rumor has it that the Ronnie Humphrey's/KB team had their last race at Norwalk!

Re: Denver??

I live 75 miles from the track and wonder if my driveway is closer to the staging lanes then my regular pit spot at the nationals. Mr. Wright I cann't agree with you that it is a hole as the track surface in all concrete with a cooling system on the starting line. The pits are mainly paved asphalt, but as we sportsman racers know that is given to the pros/circus. Now as to why the low car counts I'd go:
1 Pitting for sportsman racers is mostly in the north forty which doesn't work well with crew members and family. Shoot friends don't even want to walk out to shoot the bull.
2 One of the hardest tracks to dial outside of Sonoma due to swirling winds.
3 Don't see much representation from the west as car counts started to fall off when they changed the western swing. If I was in Cali I wouldn't tow here if I could just tow to Sonoma and run back to back races (div and nat).
4 And earlier did someone say the economy. 3.50 for diesal so by the time you make the tow, with no help from class if you had a fast car, its not any fun unless the track makes you feel good about coming and I've seen plenty of posts on how most sportsman feel about NHRA's treatment of you at a national event.
Now let's sit back, watch, and cheer for those who did make the tow out here to have fun in this sport that we love.

I was talking about the lay out and whole situation. The cooled starting pad is no big deal for us. The power loss from the elevation makes traction pretty much a non-issue.
I feel the same way about Joliet. 40 miles to the staging lanes, no speakers, etc, once there was enough for me.
