Both Neil Smedley & Rick Unterseh are members here. send them a PM. If you can't find them, send me a PM & I'll give you contact info. These are low RPM engines.

OK, sent them messages, now I ask about one other motor: the Buick 252 V6, 4bbl.
I found one in an 82 Grand Prix.

IF I went this route, any ballpark for converter/gear?

No offense, but I'd really like to build one myself. I know it'll cost more, but I have a mechanical background, and for me building will be a big part of the fun.

I completely understand your thought of building your own but how about this. Say you buy someone else's dime rocket you will likely end up re-engineering, refurbishing or rebuilding the whole thing over a period of time anyhow hence you built it. In the meantime because you only put pennies out of your pocket or so you thought when you started this whole thing you can build from scratch the car of YOUR dreams and when that's done sell the dime rocket and put that chump change towards say a nice enclosed trailer. Just another spin on things that's all.
